“The Morning Star is a fabulous place to make your mornings beautiful”

This is resort/hotel opened in a bungalow. Beautiful rooms, spacious, aesthetic looks, clean washrooms. Hospitality by the family is superb.We checked in late night and in room AC was not working, they changed the room instantly and said just have dinner by that time room will be changed. The man who manages(forgot the name..small height wears a gold chain ) is very courteous. He welcomed me and my family with a big smile and ensured we had our best stay while in srilanka. Since the stay was during off season therefore there was no buffet but he made our breakfast as per our requirement and which tasted yummmyy.. the location is superb it's just opp Turtle beach and all happening cafes of Mirisa are within 1-2kms of the radius. There was a pool as well which was thoroughly enjoyed by kids. Their whole staff team is very welcoming and warm. So please book The Morning Star if you want to experience asthetic traditional Sri Lankan style and meanwhile enjoy all modern amenities. This is 5star property

“Lovely place to relax.”

We had a beautiful relaxing time at Morning Star. Staff very helpful. Lovely clean pool. Lots of cheeky monkeys. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Very friendly family together with the housekeeper, who was amazing. She helped with breakfast and ensured we had everything in our room. The breakfast is amazing and the location is across the road from the beach.

“A pleasant oasis near Turtle beach”

Morning Star is a very pleasant hotel with well-maintained gardens and amenities. Despite its location by the main road, our garden-facing room was quiet and peaceful. The owners are very kind and helpful. Breakfast is tasty, though it can be a bit repetitive, and the pool is lovely. It’s a perfect base for exploring – Turtle Beach is right across the street, and Coconut Tree Hill and Parrot Island are just a short walk away.

“Lovely Boutique Hotel”

This was our favourite place we stayed in on our 2 week trip around Sri Lanka. It is a family run boutique hotel. We stayed in the superior room beside the pool and it was well worth the extra money. The rooms are beautifully decorated and grounds and pool lovely. The staff were very attentive and breakfasts very nice. It is also less than 5 mins walk from turtle bay and we were able to walk to the beach, rent snorkels and swim with turtles one morning which was amazing.

Really lovely place in Mirissa. Everywhere is walkable from Morning Star, the rooms were comfy and the breakfast was delicious. The family who run it are really lovely and helpful, and sorted out a tuktuk for us to go to Weligama with no problem. The pool area was particularly lovely.

Lovely property with pool which is right across from turtle beach. The staff were so nice and cooked us a huge breakfast each morning which was delicious. Would definitely stay here again.

“Gorgeous pool, beach very close!”

The pool was just so lovely, it felt like a tropical paradise! The local monkeys were a bit unnerving whilst trying to enjoy being poolside, but the staff did well to scare them away. The location isn't near the main Mirissa beach, but you can get down to connecting beaches within 5 minutes!

Really clean rooms, nice balcony upstairs, breakfast fantastic, very quiet clean pool area, great location just over the road from the beach. Best of all the staff - the lady that cleaned and made breakfast went above and beyond in all areas, she is an absolute gem! (Didn't quite catch her name). 100% recommend!

“Great stay in Mirissa”

The location opposite the beach and close to restaurants etc makes it a great choice in Mirissa. The room was comfortable and clean with a large shared terrace overlooking the Main Street. Lovely pool with comfortable sun loungers. The breakfast was amazing especially the fruit platter. It’s run by a lovely, friendly family. One special mention has to go out to Shiyani who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. She’s an absolute gem. We also used her brother for a tuk tuk day trip to Weligama and he was a great driver and very safe. Thoroughly recommend

“Nice family run guest house”

We really enjoyed our stay at Mirissa Morning Star. The location was great - opposite Turtle beach where we swam each morning with turtles - the rooms were very clean, and the breakfast was lovely. The staff were kind, friendly, and very welcoming to us. We had a great experience overall and would happily recommend this place.

“Wonderful stay in Mirissa”

My initial impression upon entering the facility was completely different from my impression upon seeing the main area at the back. The hotel was the most beautiful of all the hotels we stayed in during our trip to Sri Lanka. There's only one street separating you from the beach, and you can access the ocean from the alleyway directly opposite the hotel. Everyone working there was wonderful; we even had the chance to chat with the owner. Breakfast was adequate and delicious; we had our own fruit plate, eggs, and homemade pancakes. We don't ask for much for breakfast in the hot weather. The rooms were spacious and clean. We used their laundry service; the price was reasonable, and our clothes came back clean. Thank you very much.

Lovely family-run accommodation, the family were always super friendly and helpful- typical of Sri Lankan hospitality. The pool is nice and the breakfast in the morning always hit the spot.

“Not worthy of Money , look layout of duty in attached photo”

Room was very very small and , mosquito net was full of dust. Probably might not have been washed for more than 1 year

Loved this place so much we stayed longer. Nice clean room and nice pool area. Decent breakfast.
