Really had a great stay. Room was spotless. Aircon worked well plus had the use of a fan. Bathroom had hot water. Beautiful view over the jungle from the balcony. Lovely management. Close to turtle beach and Coconut Hill. Loved my stay. Thank you so much

Authentic Sri Lankan family land

Had a fabulous 3 days here. Just a couple 100 metres from the beach.Far enough away from the road to be peaceful. Setback up a little driveway, it feels like miles away from the busyness of downtown Mirissa. We got a fabulous welcome from both Lasanthi and the very smiley. Dinasha. Very pleased with our immaculately clean spacious 3rd floor room with again spacious balcony. Surrounded by quite dense vegetation it was a haven for bird life and a couple of small monkeys came to sit on the balcony too. We saw 18 different species of bird just sitting on the balcony, a real pleasant experience. There were local shops, cafes nearby. The main strip is approximately 1.5km long and starts almost immediately when you leave the drive. Beach is actually accessible via a little alley almost opposite the property. If you have goggles and a snorkel you can swim and see turtles almost immediately. Alternatively you can hire them off the friendly beach guys for 500 rupee an hour. Almost guaranteed to see turtles.

“Simple Comfort and Friendly Vibes in Mirissa”

Minara Guest House in Mirissa was a solid little stay. The staff were super friendly and helpful, which made the experience feel relaxed and easy. They also had a scooter available to rent, which came in handy for getting around and exploring the area. The room was simple but comfortable, with everything we needed. The bathroom could definitely use a bit of an upgrade, but it did the job. The location wasn’t right in the heart of things, but it suited our needs just fine—quiet, and still easy enough to get where we wanted to go. All in all, a good value stay with great service and the basics covered.

This has everything you need as a solo budget traveller. Clean, inexpensive, comfortable rooms away from the main strip but everything is within walking distance. The owner Kamara is a wonderful person who couldn't be more helpful.

We stayed at this accommodation for a week, and it was an amazing experience. The host was wonderful, and the cleanliness was absolutely impeccable. They also have a fully functional kitchen. The surrounding nature was breathtaking, full of wildlife, including a shy species of monkeys that would wander through the yard in the early morning and just before sunset, sometimes stopping for a few minutes. It was such a special sight! The location is also fantastic—very close to the beach, making it easy to enjoy the sea and relax. Our stay was truly peaceful and beautiful!

Lovely, quiet, natural setting just away from the main street. Lots of monkeys and wildlife to watch. Near a little calm cove good for swimming. Very kind and friendly family. Thank you.

“Expected more”

We liked the fact that the property is surrounded by nature and we had many monkeys around us. Breakfast was also very good and the family arranged all transfers for us.

Pros Minara guest house is a good place to enjoy the Mirrisa and its location is perfect to see the iconic place of coconut tree hill & parrot rock. From the guest house it's walkable. We got a good clean room with comfy cot & the service is amazing. The toilets are clean and well maintained. The host is very friendly and helpful. Mr. Sampath & his brother are so kind and an amazing host. If someone is looking for a clean and comfortable stay at a prime location with a friendly host then choose your stay at minara guest house.

“A very pleasant stay, outstanding value!”

A simple guest house owned by a lovely family. Nothing fancy, but it is clean, with comfortable beds, good A/C and close to a great section of the beach, and excellent restaurants. Don`t miss an opportunity to support the locals and experience their incredible hospitality that you will long remember. The uncle is one of the coolest guys I have ever met!
