Bay View Lodge is home away from home. The Management had a rapid response to all our requests. The apartment is situated at the foot of seashore. It is a quiet sweet inviting space. The restaurant is awesome. Rooms have Aircon, fridge, tea ingredients, stove, microwave and full utensils.

Best location ever! So close to the ocean you can walk straight to it at 5 AM for a morning swim. Great swimming pool, and the Green Turtle restaurant was awesome.

What a special location, especially our lodge (no 4). Right on the seafront. Helpful staff, people selling great seafood and safe water. Perfect!

Everything. The accommodation is located just on the beach, not 50m from beach, it's just on the beach with nice sea view. And walk distance to a small grocery shops(price is cheaper than shoprite, where you must first check before you go to shoprite) and bars and restaurants and activitues center -that's about 50m walking on the beach. And the beach is quiet that you can enjoy even in Christmas time without being crowded. And the beach is very clean, you can only see a little ocean waste flushed to the beach, but the coming day it's gone- this is my first experience in my life. Although it's self-cathering, but room service is everyday. Aircon is lekker, all the facilities are very recommended. Each room has a bathroom. They even have a shower place outside our your unit to wash out sand but private. And also braai area of course is there with each unit.

Great location and very close to the beach. The chalets had everything we needed. Wanette and Shawn are the best hosts and were super friendly and always available if we needed something. Security guards were always around and smiling. I would highly recommend this place and will go back there anytime.

Location, Location, Location! The beach is just a few metres away, allowing you to jump into the Indian Ocean whenever you like without the hassles that occur once you are even just a few hundred metres away. It's ideal for children: a shallow entrance and smooth waves. Special thanks to Wanette and Shawn, the managers of the lodge. Everything was expertly managed plus their advice and support in booking activities in the area was invaluable. From snorkelling to see seahorses and hundreds of sea stars, to collecting pansy shells or doing a quad-bike tour into the area or going whale shark viewing. I can highly recommend venturing out. The chalets themselves are not new but well maintained. We bought fresh Portuguese rolls from the locals every morning and also amazing tiger prawns for the braai. They were very friendly and I recommend supporting them. Alternatively there are two restaurant options in walking distance just along the beach. Green Turtle is pricey/upmarket, but don't we all need some spoils during our vacation? Overall we had a great time in Barra!

Very spacious 2 sleeper unit, everything there you could need. Would love to eat at the green turtle restaurant next time, the menu looks divine!

“A wonderful place, great people....”

It is a very nice and tranquil place. After some initial problems, we got a different apartment and all was great. Management was great in solving the problem, working hard and always good for a chat. You are directly on the beach , can go on snorkling tours, have a jump in the pool and so on. Afterwards a braai on the porch, great. Unfortunately the restaurant on the premesis was closed due to a fire, but an alternative, the Neptune, was just 50 meters up the beach (bring some time, Mozambiquan time).

Super nice property on the beach ! Katharina was super helpful, from the booking until our departure. She even helped making our visa application easier! Our stay was way too short... we will have to come back!

The place was amazing. We stayed in a house with a sea view. It was spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ended up staying more than we had planned. There is also a restaurant and a swimming pool on site. And the beach is really beautiful.
