Shimobe Hotel offers good value for money as the stay includes both dinner and breakfast. There are many onsen pools available, including both indoor and outdoor options, and the hot spring experience is very enjoyable and relaxing. The common areas and corridors to the rooms are beautifully and tastefully renovated, giving a very nice first impression. However, the room interior is a bit old and could benefit from maintenance or renovation. One highlight of the stay was definitely the free-flow beer after the onsen, which we especially loved and found very enjoyable.

Great experience of Japanese onsen, delicious dinner and breakasft buffet, great outdoor onsen, traditional rooms, not crowded. Ice cresm for free, mochi making and happy hour with footbath included. Lots to enjoy!

“Shimobe Hotel was the best part of our 4 weeks trip to Japan”
As an European we loved Shimobe Hotel. We visited hotel to feel like Japanese people during vacation, and it was brilliant. We could dip our feet in hot water watching koi fish pool, we were invited to mash rice to make rice cakes during evening animations, and there is beautiful stone outdoor onsen. Everything was far beyond our expectations, and I recommend Shimobe Hotel to everyone seeking calmness, relax and friendly atmosphere in traditional Japanese style
