“If you want a short stay at a very reasonable price then this hotel is OK”
The hotel is OK for a short stay and is relatively close to the airport. The breakfast was OK. The hotel owner was very accommodating in dealing with our requests.

I spent 3 nights here! The hotel has everything you need. Very close to the airport and, even though it’s not in Mindelo, it’s perfect for those who don’t want to stay in the hustle and bustle of the city. Above all, Lima’s warm welcome and helpfulness make the stay truly special.

I recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at Hotel Lazareto, and it truly felt like a home away from home for me. The breakfasts were nice, with such generous portions that I often packed a little something to enjoy during my day trips around the area. Exceptional Staff and Comfort The owners couldn’t have been kinder or more attentive—always a friendly face at reception ready to help with a smile and engaging conversation. My room was clean, with reliable hot water every time, making everything feel comfortable and welcoming. Peaceful Location Nestled in a quiet village spot, it’s about a 30-40 minute walk along the shore to Mindelo, which I loved as a relaxing way to start the day away from city hustle. “To absolutely avoid at all cost”
Room was not ready at checkin (1 hour too late) but could’ve lived with that if the room would’ve not been a biohazard. Extremely mouldy smell from the second you opened the door. Unbearable and so unhealthy. I’m sure we avoided something by changing hotels (what was not easy bc of carnival). Ok, it was cheap for European standards, but a room that is not sticky and without hairs everywhere is a minimum. And the checkout was even more annoying than checkin because the owner/ manager was extremely rude and not even interested in why we were leaving. After my formal complaint via Booking, he even accused me of not paying. Which is funny because I am looking at my credit card receipt with the hotel on it while I’m typing this. Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures of the room but you can’t capture smell on a picture nor was I going to zoom in on the gross on the floor.
