“Great stay with great private onsen”

Easy to reach by car, with plenty of parking spaces. The private onsen apartment was superb, with a comfortable bedroom, great living room with a nice garden view and everything that you might need for a relaxed stay. The breakfast was a bit too much (quantity wise) and the dinner was decent (again the quantity was a bit too generous). The staff was great, friendly and helpful.

Had whole unit which was very spacious. Outdoor and indoor private Onsen. Excellent staff and service. Comfortable beds. On-site parking available. Meals were delicious.

The staff were amazing. Even if they didn’t speak English they still tried their best to accommodate any request we had and the food was amazing!

The staff were attentive and spoke English. Fujimoto-san in particular was very polite and friendly. He helped us from picking us to the bus stop to the end of our trip.  Although the location is not in Kurokawa Onsen town, the staff were accommodating and dropped us off and picked us up from the town and from and to the bus stop when we arrived and left. The room and onsens were clean and spacious. We enjoyed the outdoor private onsen in particular. The public cave onsen was also quite fun.  The dinner and lunch was delicious highlighted local ingredients expertly prepared by the chef.  Overall, our stay at Hanamura was beyond our expectations and was relaxing and peaceful.

This hotel was the highlight of our travel. Special cultural experience of ryokan + onsen. We enjoyed the dinner and breakfast. Yes, a bit expensive, but you will remember it your whole life. A must during the stay in Japay

Better than expected.

Very clean. Toiletries, towels, pajamas provided was very good. Room size spacious than normal Japanese room. Futon bedding was comfortable. Heating in room for winter is good too. In room onsen tub good for 1 person but is good enough. They provided daily small snack which is very pleasant. Room has kettle, small fridge. Very thoughtful. Breakfast & dinner was tasty. Free parking.

The breakfast and dinner set meals and the outdoor onsens were the highlights. Rooms were sizeable clean and was very happy with the room with a private bath and toilet. The additional social area was also very nice. Staff were helpful and knew enough english to assist with our needs.

“Relaxing stay”

We loved the coziness of the room. It was spacious for the 4 of us. The table with heater underneath was very comfortable! Breakfast and dinner were sumptuous. Location was out of the main area but it was nice, quiet and relaxing. Service was fantastic, the moment we parked our car, someone came out immediately to attend to us and brought our bags in.

The food was very good and very fresh, unlike other ryokans we have stayed at, the whole menu also changes for every meal - breakfast and dinner. Serving staff are also friendly and helpful. The private onsen was also very good. The room and toilet are clean :)

“Comfortable but pricey for what we got”

Room was nice with own bath. Good size and amenities. My 12y old given child’s meal which was insufficient and she was served adult food at all other ryokans we stayed in. The food was nice but not spectacular. Staff polite but lacked warmth. Very corporate.

Very patient & helpful staff, even have problem with communicate, they still able to solve our problems. The dinner and breakfast was excellent, I would give 5 stars.

Suberb ryokan, old-style and stylish. Excellent service. On top of your own onsen (in our room), there were very lovely common onsens for women and men separately. The Kaiseki dinner was very good.

Room was clean and comfortable. we had a private bath in the room. Staff was also very patient in showing us around the ryokan. We reached the ryokan around 2pm. Staff told us to come back again at 3pm (check in time). As we were about to leave, the staff ran out again to inform us that our room was actually ready. so they allowed us to check in before 3pm. We had our dinner and breakfast in a private room, next to the lobby. It was my first time trying horse sashimi. it tasted so good. Kaiseki dinner was beyond awesome.
