The cabin was so cozy and the location was beautiful, it felt so peaceful. The breakfast was also delicious.

Fantastic host who made sure we could dry our soggy clothes in a spare cabin. The onsen was ready to jump in directly. And those electric blankets were so nice! Beautiful specially made breakfast too.

Delightful ryoken in every way with gracious hosts. Traditional building set in beautiful meadow with river and flowers. Comfortable beds, good room with clean shower facilities and toilet and we had an onsen for our private use. Delicious breakfast. Highly recommended.

The host was friendly and helpful. The shower/onsen was actually outside of the cabin but was very enjoyable! Delicious breakfast and comfortable and clean rooms. We loved staying at Polan no Fue!

“The best place to stay in Aso”

This is my favourite place to stay. You will need a car and if you do, it is so worth it. The lodge is located in a beautiful area. It is quiet, comfortable and cosy. At night you can hear the owls and see the stars. The breakfast is clean, healthy and delicious. This is better than any five star hotel. There is even a private bath to soak in. The owner takes great pride in the place and prepares his meals with care and attention. I am so glad we stayed here for 4 nights. If we come to Aso again, I will not stay anywhere else.

Beautiful rustic guesthouse in forested setting a couple of kms outside the gorgeous onsen town, Kurokawa Onsen. You need a car to travel in this area. Had a large bedroom and separate living area. Well equipped. Private onsen in building next door. The cabin was heated and cosy when we arrived on a cold night. Very clear and helpful pre-arrival information provided in English. Fantastic western style breakfast and gourmet Japanese evening meal provided. Amazing value for money. Would not hesitate to stay again. Brilliant place with charming and helpful host.

“Lovely accommodation with amazing food.”

Lovely cabin with two big rooms in a wooded location on a hillside. We would have been happy with only one room but the owner (who spoke English) thought that was too small! There was also a veranda to sit on but it was too cold in November. There was a sink and a toilet in both rooms. There was a private bath big enough for 2 in a cabin 10m away. The food was amazing. Really top notch cooking. Deserved a Michelin star! Don’t miss out on the food. I think it was 3,800 yen for dinner.

The dinner and breakfast were made by the host, you can taste the original Japanese style meal. We almost finished everything! Very delicious.

The wooden building is beautiful. It located in a quiet area. Host is nice. love the music they played when having breakfast, felt relaxing.

A lovely bed&breakfast surrounded by quiet nature. Cabon was comfortable and tidy, service was extremely friendly and the breakfast provided was tasty and plentiful. We enjoyed a private bath in the evening and looked at the beautiful starry sky. A very relaxing experience, thoroughly recommended for nature lovers looking for a casual and quiet place to stay.

It was a perfect cabin with access to a wonderful bath! The host was so kind, he brought out his telescope for us to look at the moon, and made us a very big breakfast with lots of variety. Thanks for such a wonderful stay!
