overall very nice.. not only the good service, but also the facility maintenance quite good (because the hotel have quite long history).. the staff will introduce their local meal during breakfirst and dinner section.. they will also aak you next destination and provide related information.. i will recommend my friend to stay at okyakuya next time

“Nice ryokan, exceptional food, a bit pricey”

The food was incredible. Carefully selected, refinedly prepared. The service we got during dinner experience was also exceptional, especially from the lady on training, thank you so much. Of the three onsen, two are very nice. One however not so much. Room is clean and spacious, but also aged (stained paper closet doors etc), not befitting for a true japanese-style detail-loving ryokan experience.

Gorgeous old building. Has modern facilities, while still keeping its rustic charm (a very difficult balance). The staff were so friendly, kind, and attentive. The food was on another level. The tatami matts are never going to be as comfortable as a luxury mattress set, but they were the most comfortable we’ve experienced and added to the enjoyment of the experience.

A fantastic ryokan in Kurokawa Onsen. The facilities (i.e., onsens) are great, the breakfast and dinner are fantastic meals. This is a great location to rest, soak in hot water baths and take it a bit slower. One of us was pescatarian and the staff has done all necessary swaps in all meals.

One of the best experience in a ryokan of my life. The stay is not expensive at all if we consider all the services they provide. If you are planning to stay a night in kurokawa onsen i would really recommend this ryokan, authentic and traditional experience. The staff is very kind and always ready to help, they even took me to the bus station the day after! The dinner and breakfast experience are a must! Staff will explain every dish in details and will guide you in a real culinary experience with fresh local flavour! Also amazing indoor and outdoor onsen!

We had an amazing stay at Okyakuya and would absolutely love to return. The location could not be better, right in the heart of Kurokawa Onsen. When we visited, the entire town was beautifully lit up for the holidays, and it made evening walks feel incredibly special and romantic. The staff were truly wonderful. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, and their English was very good, which made conversations easy and enjoyable. The service went above and beyond. We loved being able to chat with the staff, and one of the highlights was running into them while walking around the holiday lights. They immediately offered to take a photo of us, which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture that really stayed with us. The food was also excellent. Every meal was delicious, and we really appreciated that each one was different, making every dining experience something to look forward to. Overall, Okyakuya made our time in Kurokawa Onsen incredibly memorable, and we would happily recommend it to anyone looking for exceptional hospitality and a truly special stay.
