I didn’t expect much at first since it’s a budget accommodation and mainly for ski-in/ski-out, but it turned out to be really nice. My son absolutely loved it here. The room was comfortable and clean, and the toilets were well-maintained. The rooms also have a beautiful view directly overlooking the ski area. If you want to use the bath, you just need to inform Mr. Kitamura so he can turn on the heater. The ski area is literally right outside the house. We truly enjoyed the skiing activities, especially my son, as it was his first time snowboarding. The place wasn’t crowded, and the slope is perfect for beginners, with more challenging runs available if you take the lift up for more advanced skiers. You can rent all ski gear right beside the house at Chateau Shiozawa Ski Ipponsugi Resort. The place is managed by the owner himself, who is already 81 years old yet still very active and hands-on, which is really impressive. I can honestly say this experience was far better than GALA Yuzawa, which we visited before coming here. Rentals are much cheaper and the area is far less crowded. Mr. Kitamura even drove us to a nearby supermarket to buy everything we needed for a small fee of ¥600. His kitchen is fully equipped, so we were able to cook our own wagyu. Just make sure to inform him in advance if you need transportation, such as pick-up or drop-off at Shiozawa Station, especially if you don’t have a car. The accommodation is located in the mountains, about 2.5 kilometers from the station. The mountain views are absolutely beautiful. We met many guests during our stay, including several returning visitors, which says a lot about the place. Please note there is an additional ¥800 fee for the heater and ¥200 for towels. There’s also a nice street called Bokushi near Shiozawa Station worth visiting. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at Futago Cabin, and I would definitely come back again if we visit during the winter season.

Came here for family winter snow experience. The area is a bit isolated, so its not too crowded. Better to have a vehicle for easy access to amenities and dining. Host is very helpful and can speak basic english.

Stayed here a couple of time now. Always the first place I check. it's close to the snow resorts, for a great price and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

Futago Cabin was a great place to stay. The owner was very accommodating with our late arrival and the communal kitchen was well stocked. Would definitely stay again.
