The hosts are excellent, helpful and very accommodating. The room was very tidy, cozy and comfortable. The bathroom has a spectacular view of Mount Aso which made our stay even more memorable.

We had a wonderful stay at wakka. The hosts are very kind and welcoming, the room is a great combination of modern and japanese style accomodation with a view to Mount Aso. The room also has a kitchenette with a toaster oven, microwave and other kitchen utensils. We rented a grill and all other neccessary BBQ utencils from the owners for a small price and cooked steaks we had bought in the supermarket. Also the road leading to wakka isnt that bad as long as your car isnt too big. Highly reccomend for anyone wanting a quiet stay away from the city!

Best accommodation in our two week vacation! SUPER friendly and helpful owners! Very clean and quiet place in the middle of beautiful nature. You get real Japanese home vibe/feeling there. We felt very welcome there.

Great view at reasonable price. Very kind hosts and well maintained facility. You may find it rather hard to find the right route to reach there if you’re not accustomed to Japanese rural narrow roads, but it’s definitely worth the try.

Everything, not even exaggerating. Never had such a comfy bed and stay. We had trouble along the way to get there but they were extremely understanding and kind, seeing us off and even fulfilled a selfish request of mine.

The accommodation was very good and very comfortable. The surroundings were beautiful. The owners treated us very well and were very friendly.

“An authentic japanese countryside experience in the beautiful nature of Aso”

We loved our stay in Wakka. We stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. It is well located in the south part of Aso's caldeira and a good spot to explore the area if you have a car. Despite being quite deeply hidden in the nature of Aso, Wakka was quite easy to find. Instructions send ahead to find the route were clear, there was little signs showing the way and the Google Maps location was correct. The room was clean, the bed confortable and with a little terrace to go with it! The hosts were very nice and even offered us a snack for the road after check-out! If you want a very peaceful and authentic experience of Aso, surrounded by trees, i recommend you stay at Wakka!!!

Host is very nice and friendly. Kind to provide us a farewell snack thats handmade. While the place is not huge for 4 pax, it is sufficient. Everything we need is there!

The place is situated in a beautiful serene environment. I was happy the bath was elderly friendly as I was travelling with my 90 yr old mother and the couple running the Airbnb are very friendly. .
