Only a 5-minute drive from Nakamatsu Train Station, Shikino Mori offers Japanese-style and Western rooms with sweeping mountain views. A natural hot spring bath and a sauna provide soothing relaxation. All rooms overlook Mount Aso, and they are fitted with a flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge and an en suite bathroom with free toiletries. Carpeted rooms come with twin beds, while Japanese-style rooms feature traditional futon bedding on a tatami (woven mat) floor. Hotel Shikino Mori is 1 km from the Asobono Sato Kugino Park, and 2 km from the Soba Dojo, which offers workshops in making Japanese soba noodles. The scenic Shirakawa Suigen (Springs) can be found a 10-minute drive away, while it's a 15-minute drive to the Takamori Yosui Tunnel Park. Guests can explore the beautiful surroundings with the hotel's rental bicycles, or browse for local products in the souvenir shop. Free parking is available. Japanese meals are served at restaurant Nonohara. Meals are only offered if they are included in the room rate.

“Best part of our trip to Japan!”
This is a wonderful little hotel in a very beautiful area. The rooms are comfortable, cozy, and have incredible views. The adventure centre with bike rental is a short walk away. However the best part of this hotel is the staff. They, including Mr. Atsu, are incredibly helpful and accomodating, and make you feel like you have entered their home with their kindness and helpfulness. My partner and I will visit again in a few years to spend more time in this beautiful area.

The property sits at the foot of a small hill overlooking Minamiaso and Mt Aso area, hence it boasts a great view. Room is decent sized for one, but it might be a little squeezy for two if you consider the luggage too (my luggage size is 153cm). The room also has a balcony, but would be nice if there's chairs and table to guests to chill and enjoy the view. The manager (not sure if he is? and didnt get his name) whom I met upon check out is really hospitable, filled with knowledge around the area and recommended me to go Aspecta to see the sakura. A really good recommendation. Thank you!
