“One of the best ryokans we have been to”
Ryokan Konomama is one of the best ryokans we have been to in Japan. It is located quietly in in the rural area of Aso. The room is spectacular and well equipped. The lighting in room make everything onto another level. The view of the mountain is phenomenon. We love it.

Beautiful accommodation and very clean. Everything we were hoping for. Regarding transportation - you can book a taxi from the ryokan, they will provide you the information when you arrive 🙂

“A stunningly beautiful place to stay to enjoy Mount Aso”
The facilities are stunning. The room is incredibly spacious, with huge floor to ceiling windows overlooking Mount Aso. There is also a large patio and a beautiful private bath overlooking the mountain, which creates an incredibly relaxing atmosphere. The bed was super comfortable and they offer complimentary drinks in the evening. There is also an outdoor viewing deck which we didnt get to use during our stay as it was a bit cold, but I'd imagine it'd be amazing in the summer for star gazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful, giving us recommendations for delicious places to eat nearby.

“Wonderful base for visiting Mount Aso.”
It was a beautiful and innovative architect designed living space. Views were amazing and the hot water tub a lot of fun. Generous supply of complimentary drinks and snacks and extremely helpful reception were notable.

One of the highlights of our trip through Japan: Indoor onsen with a stunning view of the Aso mountain range. We definitely want to come back!
