The room is very spacious. Free use of kitchen to prepare meals. Quiet place surrounded by village with paddy fields. Short walking distance from the bus stop provided you manage to catch the local bus timetable.

Located in the caldera of Mount Aso: very easy access to great hikes and landscapes. Enough car park spots for everyone without reservation.

It was definitely value for money. You were provided clean sheets and had access to showers/toilets and a kitchen area.

Kids loved the novelty of having a split level. Great location to explore Mt Aso. Handy to have the common kitchen & eating common area. Didn't get a chance to try the outdoor BBQ, would've been great.

Nice little guesthouse for few days, it is actually a 30min walk from train station if u dont have a car, if you are lucky there is sometime a bus going from the guesthouse to the train station, Google maps time was accurate. Good value for money, and good location if u want to explore a little bit Minamiaso Valley which is quite beautifull also (don't just do Aso it's overcrowded) i think they can help you for hiking place around or what to do in the Valley. Bunk beds are confortable and there is a kitchen and fridge to store food.

Very nice place. Very good price, I paid 1700yens for the night and 300 to use the dryer. The house is clean, the lady who manage the house is nice. Very good for travelling. I hiked from Aso station to this place, crossing Aso moutain. Very nice but difficult hike (20km and 1200m d+ and d-). The south path to go down the moutain was closed so I couldn t finish the hike, but some japanese took me in their care. So if you want to hike, double check every path in japanese official gouvernemental map (with yamap is ok), because the tourist information in Aso was not awared at all about hiking.

Really good price! The hostel is simple but it was clean, the bed was comfortable and it is in a good location.

“A breath of fresh air”

The room was spacious and clean, the futon was comfy enough. Hosts were nice, feels like if you were living in their house (I mean... that's a bit the case). The view on the mountains was super nice. That's a bit in the middle of nowhere but can't complain at all, if you go here it's to be in the middle of nowhere anyway. Still not too far from a few beautiful places (by car). Bonus point they have cute cats.
