From the moment we drove into the carpark, we were greeted by the very friendly and caring staff. The beautifully prepared Kaiseki dinner and breakfast was delicious. And the Onsen was thoroughly enjoyed by our family. A beautiful place to stay to experience Japanese cuisine and hospitality.

A gorgeous little gem: freshly renovated, beautiful design. Staff - many speak excellent English - is wonderful, caring, accommodating and very helpful. Food (Kaiseki dinner and breakfast) - beautifully prepared and served and is fantastic! The onsen is very nice, too - indoors and outdoors. A lovely, lovely place to stay for a few days, when in the Aso area of Kyushu. Sleeping on tatami!

Let me start with an advise; when you come to Japan go to Kyushu and stay in this hotel. My wife and I enjoy our last evening here (we stayed 5 nights) and this hotel is excellent. The location, the room (we stayed in the suite), the food, but most of all the excellent staff. The staff make you feel welcome, the service is warm and personal, yet professional at the same time. They know who you are from the moment you arrive. One of the best performances we experienced and we travel a lot. My wife has a rare allergy and they provided special meals for here. Exceptional. The hotel is also very clean and is recently renovated. The onsen in the room and the public one are comfortabel / beautiful. The location is perfect to visit Mount Aso, Kumamoto, Beppu, Oita, Takachiho gorge et cetera. Can’t recommend this place enough!

“A wonderful stay”

I had an excellent stay in Hotel Yumeshizuku. Before my arrival, staff provided the choices of meal to choose. Upon arrival, they were very helpful, from checking in to bringing us around. The room is big, the bed & quilt were so comfortable.There is an outdoor hot footbath for our tired feet. Both dinner & breakfast provided was so yummy. I've nothing to complain except my stay was too short. Will definitely come back if I've a chance.

“Ryokan experience to perfection”

Everything was perfection - starting from my arrival, public bathhouse experience, the cozy room, delicious dinner and breakfast and very kind staff members. The view of Mt. Aso from the third floor lookout and the footbath area is impeccable. Also, much special thanks to Mr. Isao Tsugayasu, who was extremely helpful and kind to us throughout the stay! He truly made our experience at Yumeshizuku unforgettable. Thank you so much again for your kindness and hospitality. I look forward to my next stay at Yumeshizuku in the nearest future.

Location is isolated but beautiful. Staff customer service is great. Private outdoor onsen is great.

“Definitely worth visiting again.”

The property has ample car park and the private onsen is easily accessible from the room. We also like the large room with standard beds, tatami living room and a standard TV area. The bath experience is fantastic. The dinners and breakfast were all of high quality and good quantity. It is also a convenient hotel to launch visits to ASO. The only challenge is that one must drive there.

A lovely hotel with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. We had a fabulous stay. The meals were ALL exceptional! It's a beautiful setting and perfectly located for hiking around Mt Aso.

The private onsen was very nice. Hotel had good facilities like foot spa with a great view of Mt Aso. Dinner and breakfast was great and staff were friendly and able to speak english.

“Really nice onsen Ryokan with superb service and amazing staff”

Nicely located in a rural location in the Mt Asa area, this is a really nice Ryokan with amazing staff that are really welcoming and helpful. We stayed in one of the private onsen rooms which is basically a large stone bath that you can fill up yourself and has views out to an outdoor pond but is screened so that it is still private. This was a really nice feature because we could control the temperature of the onsen bath for our 2 year old child as we often find that the public onsens are a little too hot for her. The onsen water is from a genuine hot spring because you can smell the sulphur in the water The food in generally was really good with a huge variety of traditional japanese dishes and great service Overall I would say that the service was just amazing, the staff are really helpful and friendly. We really couldn't ask for more.

Nice onsen and good food. The staff is very helpful, Mt Aso was closed for a few weeks before we arrived. She emailed booking.com to inform us on that night that the next morning is open. We managed to get there.
