Everything was absolutely exceptional!

We spent our honeymoon at Yado Kanzan. It was probably the most breathtaking experience we've had in Japan, from extremely hospitable, humorous, and understanding staff, clean and practical facilities, and such a great hydrogen rich private onsen with the view of Mt Tanigawa. The dinner and breakfast menus were spectacular, we felt like royals with the variety, taste, and completeness of all flavours in all meals. The shakuhicho performances at night were also tear jerking. Just after 1 day here, my wife immediately planned to come back again in the future. Thank you to Yado Kanzan team for the incredible experience.

Luxurious and not pretentious. Staff go out of their way to offer sincere hospitality. Dinner and breakfast selections were generous and exquisite in presentation and substance.

The hotel has great vibe. Very calming and relaxing. The onsen is private so we really appreciated that. The quality of the mineral water is exceptional. One of the best we've experienced in Japan. But the star of the show has to be the food. The food was way up and beyond. Savoring the delicious meal while enjoying the flute session was a great experience. “Authentic boutique onsen”

This is the perfect little onsen for a visitor to Japan. It’s tiny enough that you feel as if you’re in someone’s home, but big enough to offer lovely facilities such as the baths and a restaurant. A real flavour of Japanese hospitality

One of the most beautiful stays, we have ever had. The food was delicious the staff were attentive and kind.

The staff are warm and welcoming! The staff was very helpful and took their time explaining things the best they could in English. The hotel is cute and clean! It’s small but cozy! The room was a nice size and the bed was very comfortable! The onsen was very nice and relaxing! The views of the mountains are beautiful! And the food was delicious and beautifully presented!

This ryokan is truely a gem, everything from the room to the spa, the meal is exceptionnal. Thank you very much for this wonderful stay!

“Beautiful Ryokan”

Most friendly owner and staff. Best & beautiful food for both breakfast n dinner. Wonderful private spas: the Hydrogen spa by reservation only for 40 min each night of stay, with another 2 other spas available with no limits of use. As there are only 6 or 7 guest rooms, you can always find one available most time. We appreciate the lovely deco and live flower arts all around the ryokan. Of course there was the nice but short music performance at the end of dinner to compliment your stay.

“Super relaxing onsen with great mountain views”

Fantastic location with great views of the mountains, and the onsens are superb. The super hydrogen onsen is no gimmick either, it made me feel so much more relaxed than a regular onsen. Not to mention the onsen has a great view of the mountain as well, making for a very relaxing experience. Rooms are very comfy and the food was delicious. Easy to arrange the shuttle pickup from the station as well.

The location was absolutely beautiful, there is not a whole lot to do but it was very peaceful. Very nice and relaxing. The staff were super nice and accomodating and the onsen were amazing! I had some of the best sleep I ever had here, love the futon. There was an amazing shakuhachi performance and I will keep my stay here in my heart forever.

“Best private onsen and ryokan ever!”

The location was incredible, with the rooms having beautiful views of the mountains. The hydrogen spa, for which each room gets a 40 minute booked slot, was the perfect temperature. There are two more onsens that can be used by the guests that don't require booking, which are not hydrogen enriched. The food was well thought out and delicious, with a multiple course japanese-style dinner. The breakfast was equally tasty, and we were able to choose the main protein; mackerel, salmon, or sausage. The wonderful hosts were polite and helpful, and were able to drop us off at the station after our stay. They even had games to choose from and take up to your room, like Jenga, and a selection of japanese-language manga.

The location is beautiful. The establishment is impeccable and the hosts are fantastic! Not to mention the most comfortable sleep and the most delicious food we've ever tasted!
