Overview
Kinseikan offers a free transfer service from Minakami Station, a 10-minute drive away. It features 4 public hot spring baths and offers Japanese-style rooms which include breakfast and dinner. Situated in the Gunma Prefecture, the property is a 20-minute drive from Tanigawadake Mountain Ropeway and a 30-minute drive from Yagisawa Dam. Fitted with a terrace, rooms feature traditional tatami mat flooring and Japanese futon bedding. They come with a private toilet and a shared bathroom. The seating area transforms into a leg-warming heated table (horigotatsu) in the winter season. A TV, a fridge and tea making facilities are included. Guests can bathe in Kinseikan’s four hot spring baths, which include a mixed-sex outdoor hot spring bath. There is also a hot spring bath that can be reserved for private use for free. A set menu is served at breakfast, while a traditional Kaiseki multi-course meal is offered at dinner. Meals are served either in-room or at the dining room.

The ryokan was located in the mountains, next to a river, which was beautiful and natural. The staff provided great service. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were delicious. The free-flowing hot spring water was of excellent quality. The hot spring baths were located next to the river, creating a wonderful experience.

“Exceptional stay and hospitality”
Exceptional hospitality. Staff very accommodating, always anticipate our needs, quite amazing actually. Only 1 or 2 English speakers but no problem at all. We had some special meal requests which they actually tried to accommodate for the next meals (this is beyond what they need to do).

“Wonderful Mountain Retreat”
The atmosphere was unlike anywhere I have been before, the mountains, room, hotel decor and the river at the bottom were exceptional. The staff were very helpful and the half board dinner and breakfast were superb. The private outdoor bath on the balcony is a wonderful place to just sit and take in your surroundings.

Memorable experience. Very charming Ryokan with a long >100 year history but well maintained, and spotlessly clean. The room was amazing with a great view of the mountain opposite and the river below. The in-room onsen was definitely the highlight. Alot of effort and attention to detail went into guest comfort and satisfaction. The Kaiseki dinner was amazing, beautifully presented and overwhelming in the number of courses served. Similar for breakfast. And to ensure no guest went hungry, delicious desserts were served for tea, and inari sushi for supper. Heavy snowfall transformed the landscape into a winter wonderland, which was truly a sight to behold. Compliments to Ms Suta and her team.
