“An unforgettable stay in a beautiful historic ryokan, made special by the atmosphere”
“Historic building with both pros and cons: beautiful rooms, a lovely onsen, and a quiet atmosphere, though the ceilings are very low (be careful if you're height is above average!). Overall, the experience was amazing. Bathing in the old onsen was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“The perfect onsen ryokan.”
In many ways the perfect Japanese onsen: idyllic location, historic wooden bath-houses, tatami rooms, traditional meals etc etc. Two buses from the shinkansen station adds to the feeling of remoteness and specialness.

“Excellent opportunity to experience a beautiful onsen”
This place offers a look into the past with its beautiful architecture and onsens including the mixed one shown in all the advertising. We’ve been to a lot of different places and this one rates very close to the top.

“Worth the drive but no need to stay the night.”
The location of the ryokan and its history are truly exceptional. We love onsen, and the atmosphere of the different onsen alone was worth the visit. We had a lovely room overlooking the river.

“Magical inn in the mountains where you can forget about the world.”
The most relaxing place I've ever been to. Idyllic and dramatic location in the mountains, by a river. The baths are exceptional. Meals were very good, the staff incredibly welcoming and attentive.

The staff was so kind. Thank you for welcoming us. The place was dreamlike, and everything in the ryokan was clean and neat. Japan is truly a beautiful place, and people like you make it even more beautiful. I hope strangers will learn how to respect that.

The onsen areas with warm water are wonderfull, so relaxing and the atmosfere is beautiful. Enjoy the warm water while looking at the sorrounding nature and mountain is a unforgetable experience. the dinner was very well organised and with lots of japanese deliciuos food. The breakfast could be a little too rich for a European citisens but also good. The employees are welcoming and they are really caring about the guests. It is worth the 2 buses rides to get here :)

“Amazing tradition onsen experience”
Absolutely beautiful property and wonderful staff, the three Onsen’s are all very different, personally the outdoor one was our favourite with the mixed one a close second. Very very traditional stay including the bedding and food, loved it, it’s expensive and way out the way.
