Beautiful luxury ryokan we ever stayed in Japan. Open air onsen was fantastic with snowfall, a beautiful huge room with 2 toilets and a large seperate shower were great. Ryokan provided the room with plenty of snacks and drinks and all the amenities available in the room. Great staffs all throughout the ryokan and the hall way was just amazing with long glass panels on one side, it’s so pretty even though it’s very modern it fits in with the ryokan. Breakfast and dinner served in a private room with kaiseki for dinner and nice Japanese breakfast were tasty. Must stay for the best luxury Japanese ryokan experience.

I was immediately captivated by the overall environment, and the impeccable cleanliness left a lasting impression. The quality of the hot springs greatly enhanced this trip, making it even more enjoyable. From dinner to lunch, every detail was filled with delightful surprises. I especially loved the evening happy hour in the hallway. The only small wish I had was for an alternative selection of red wine. This is truly an unforgettable hotel.

We liked everything about Bettei Senjyuan!! It was simply stunning. You can check in from 1pm and we would highly recommend you do. The property was aesthetically beautiful and the luxury touches made this fairly expensive stay completely value for money. The onsen - private and public - were amazing. And the food was a feast in every way.

Disappointing Experience at Bettei Seniyuen – Leech Bite Incident Ignored I recently stayed at Bettei Seniyuen on September 12, 2024 (Booking #6088430274, Room #105), and my experience was very disappointing. I was bitten by a leech in my room, resulting in significant bleeding. I contacted the reception for help, and the response I received was shockingly unprofessional and dismissive. The staff member merely handed me a bandage without showing any concern or offering an apology. This incident not only caused me physical discomfort but also prevented me from enjoying the onsen spa, which was a key reason for choosing this hotel. To make matters worse, despite my attempts to reach out to the hotel management for a resolution, I received no response or follow-up. I expected much better from a hotel of this caliber. I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their handling of such situations in the future. If you're considering staying here, be aware of the lack of proper response to guest issues.

The meals were superb, and a great way for discover specialised and traditional Japanese cuisine. The staff were plentiful and very attentive. Wakana Saito who served our meals and assisted us throughout our stay spoke excellent English, and was a genuinely warm and friendly lady. The room and attached spa bath on the balcony was first class.

Wow! This was my absolute favorite stay in Japan and way better than staying at a 5-star restaurant in the heart of Tokyo. Service was amazing and kind. We will never forget the kindness and treatment we received at this place. The onsen experience was amazing and I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Japan for the first time, especially a private onsen in your room. The breakfast and dinner served was amazing and I cannot wait to come back here again.

Very beautiful accommodations- first time staying at a ryokan with a very young child and they were very accommodating! The location was gorgeous, the private and public baths were beautiful and relaxing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would love to visit again.

Nothing like the photos, room had very unpleasant smell, shower poor. Outside onsen very neglected. Evening meal tasteless with 3 soup-type dishes. Booked for 3 nights, left after 1.
