Overview
Carmey Avdat Farm is a family-run property in the Negev Desert, 5 minutes' drive from Sde Boker. It offers rustic chalets with natural pools and hammocks. Homemade wine is available to taste and buy. Carmey Avdat is built on the site of a 1,500-year old agricultural settlement on the ancient spice route. Its chalets are scattered around the grounds and feature a private patio with dining area. The kitchenettes come with an espresso machine and free wine, milk and fruit. This property is all about being at one with nature. There are no TVs or DVD players to interrupt the peace and quiet. It is also eco-friendly and uses solar energy and a water purification system. Guests are asked to recycle. The property also promotes a community involvement project by offering free accommodation to children with special needs. Set on the Negev Desert's wine route, Carmey Avdat produces 6,000 bottles of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon wine a year. The ancient wine cellars of Avdat are 4 km away.

“Amazing and relaxing family farm and winery”
A great small family farm and winery, quiet place where you can really relax and feel the desert. Great views from within the farm, which lies on the remains of an ancient nabataean farm where you can hike around. I have been staying in an isolated cottage between trees and plants. There was a vegetarian breakfast, and vegan options were also available. You can really feel the village atmosphere. The family and staff were amazing and made sure I had all I needed. I left with the feeling that I want to stay 👌🙂

The cabin was clean and nice, the staff were great! Very helpful, they carry our bags to the room back and forward and they make sure everything is ok. There are amazing desert views and great facilities for a real resting vacation , with a hot tub and small water pond near the cabin. The breakfast was really tasty! The cabin was equipped with everything we needed , as well as the kitchen. A lot of space for 5 people vacationing. The beds were very comfortable as well as the pillows (orthopedic pillows) Highly recommend! The best place to get some rest with beautiful desert views!

Fantastic place! So quiet that the silence is ringing. The staff is very nice and caring, the breakfast was enough to keep us full for the most of the day. Complimentary wine was tasty, we also enjoyed free wine tasting. We rented a house with jacuzzi and it had a place for grill, so we cooked the vegetables we brought with us. Thinking of returning with all the family here.

“Lovely stay”
Great property in the desert. The cabin was big and spacious, the little pool was great for relaxing and the jacuzzi was great for the chilly evenings. The breakfast is really nice and they have wine tastings for free for the guests.

“'Everything' in 'The Middle of Nowhere'!”
Great room (cabin) and location. The owners are very friendly and went out of their way to help us organize a photoshoot we were planning in the area. There is no restaurant to have dinner (nearby there are options though), but the wonderful olives, fruits, crackers, cheeses and wine (it's a winery too!) that are available, were perfect on our private terrace overlooking the mountains, sunset en enjoying the Negev desert.
