“Disappointing all around.”

Too many negatives to write here. We left early and paid 2 nights which we didn't stay for cuz we couldn't get a refund. Much cheaper and nicer places in the area. Not worth your money. I guess asking for basic services of cleanliness, new towel, and a room cleaning after 6 days is too much to ask and makes us the worst guests. We were feeling so terrible to have to even ask for a towel, toilet paper or clean sheets after 6 days. We were told we can take a mop and do it ourselves. Host stopped greeting us once we asked for a room clean/new towel. She ignored us the rest of the stay and telling us different stories of her staff leaving and why she's unable to not clean or offer basic services to us. We were really looking forward to this stay and it totally went sour from her poor attitude. She told us her dogs are trying to kill each other, and we didn't understand until the night came and it was completely true. We had to get up and yell at dogs to stop fighting to help save the poor puppies being attacked by the bigger ones. It was terrifying sounds especially from someone such as myself who's had dogs my whole life and know when they're acting based on not being treated in a fair way or being fed properly. Disgusting.

“My Shanon lake villa experience..”

The beautiful environment and the villa facing the river and the lake inside the garden as well and beach is just 100m. Lovely doggies and pupies were there to spend my holiday more lovelier. The owner is a well educated and welcoming lady who always willing to help me in her guidance 🙏 in travelling Srilanka and lot more other topics as well. I felt I had the best Srilankan experience being there staying with the team there and seeing lots of birds as well who lives in the mangrove forest surrounding. The best thing is it has a less mosquitoe density compared to other places nearby. It is due to the sea water and river water mixture which prevents them breeding I think. The lush garden has hammocks and sitting areas as well. I love to be there again very soon in my next tour.

Dr Jeevani was a wonderful host. She made us feel like at home. The house is very beautiful, close to the beaches get away from the street noise.

I love the superb environment so calm and quiet sorrounding covered by mangroves and a river flowing in front of the villa and a beautiful Lake inside the garden and beach is 100 walking distance. And the rooms are so big and cozy and the staff is very friendly.

We had a truly memorable experience staying amidst the tropical mangrove junglesscape and cozy Villa which boasts a large garden area and ample space to play with the lovely dogs that are in the property. The beach is just 100m away and the lake just adjacent if you have an SUP or kayak. Lots of wildlife around and the neibourhood is quiet enough for long stay. The local breakfast was delicious and authentic. The hostess made us feel at home and is quite an interesting personality in Sri Lanka. We loved the unique experience and would recommend to anyone looking for a surf lodge, family outing or a quiet respite.
