“Beautiful Oasis full of Peace and Tranquillity”

We stayed in Zanzibar for around two weeks and visited four different hotels, and this one was by far our absolute favorite. It felt like a beautiful oasis, full of peace and tranquility. Had we known beforehand how amazing it was, we would have stayed here for our entire trip. The service was excellent and of very high quality - extremely personal yet always professional. The food was fantastic, and we would definitely recommend going for the all-inclusive option. We especially loved the many small, thoughtful gestures: our favourite drink placed in front of our door early in the morning, our bed being made ready to sleep every night, complimentary laundry service - everything was done with great care, love, and attention to detail. Dining under the stars at night was truly magical. The hotel also offers great activities, we highly recommend the sunset dhow cruise. Free tennis was another nice bonus.

We stayed for 11 nights at the wonderful Jua Retreat, choosing it for its excellent reviews, private setting, adults-only environment, and personalised service. The retreat not only lived up to its description it exceeded our high expectations. The Jua team, led by Hassan, made our stay truly special, thoughtfully arranging two birthdays, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. The care, warmth, and attention to detail made us feel genuinely relaxed and exceptionally well looked after throughout our stay. The food was excellent, with a varied menu that changed daily, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. The grounds and large swimming pool (20 × 12 m) were kept immaculately clean and were a real highlight. The rooms do not have air conditioning, but the ceiling fans and netted windows worked well for us and kept insects at bay. There is no sandy beach directly in front of the retreat, but the pool more than compensates. We also walked to The Rock Restaurant, a pleasant walk when the tide is low, though it’s worth taking a hat, sunscreen, and water and being mindful of the significant tidal changes. Overall, this was a superb place to completely switch off, escape the pace of everyday life, and enjoy outstanding hospitality. We would happily return and highly recommend Jua Retreat to anyone seeking a peaceful, high-quality Zanzibar retreat.

“A luxury relaxing paradise. You stay here and all stress and anxiety just fades away.”

The property can only be described as relaxation heaven. There is little to no noise you can enjoy the crashing of the waves as you relax by the pool. The staff are wonderful they are friendly, helpful and extremely welcoming. Food was some of the best food we have eaten and every meal is as good as the next. As there is only a few rooms at dinner there are only 2-3 other couples eating with you. This place really is a luxury paradise.

we had a wonderful stay. the manager, Sam（sorry i m not sure whether i spell it correctly)is very very professional, very helpful. the experience we had at Jua is even better than many 5 star hotels around the world. the service, the view, the food (best squid ever!) …i ll make a video and recommend to my followers (abt 80 thousand). thank you for everything!

“Perfect place for a relaxing stay”

Everything was perfect as lots of people mentioned it before, we were not disappointed. Very good value for money, amazing staff, great location with only 4 villas with stunning view. And most of it, the silence is the real luxury !

Heaven on earth! Wonderful place. Mr Hassan was nothing but gracious at all times together with his team Emanuel, Musa, Jamar, Daodi, Violet... not to mention the Chef preparing the most delicious and personalised dishes just for you. The stay was everything I hoped for and more. It's indescribable the joy I felt the whole stay. Perfection is the key to everything they do! I am sorry not to mention all names however I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff from Jua retreat as they have made my stay Magical♥️

I like a quiet and isolated place and Jua has met my requirements. Paid a lot but loved it.

The food was fantastic, each day we had a number of delicious and fresh options on the lunch and dinner menu, which we chose at breakfast. The locations is great, just out of town and the rooms offer privacy. The staff are very respectful and full of great service and good humor. We will be back.

the food was excellent, all freshly prepared and cooked to order. no restrictions on meal times. the staff team were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. the lodges were out of this world, everything we needed and more, no detail was left out everything was clean, it was so peaceful. Hassan arranged some great activities, all at the right pace.

How peaceful and relaxed it was. Nicely remote. The food was incredible!! Also the staff were so lovely and Friendly, tempering things you did or did not like. Loved how there was no set meal times and you go when you fancy to a certain degree! I can’t ever say I have had such a relaxing and romantic holiday!

“Intimate and private”

Jua is a private, serene paradise set on a secluded strip of beach on the tip of the East coast of Zanzibar. With only 4 villas tailored for couples the whole experience at Jua is very personal and intimate. The rooms are comfortable and clean with massive beds. The only complaints I had about the room would be the pillows and the fact that is open allows for insects in. However, this is to be expected in a open villa like this. The staff were amazing, especially Emmanuel who we interacted with a lot during our stay and made sure to accommodate our needs.

The cottages are big and very private and peaceful. The private pool was lovely.
