Isabel la Católica Metro Station is 400 metres away. Dorms are decorated with bold colours and include a fan. Sheets and towels are available to rent. The shared bathrooms are bright and modern. Hostal Amigo’s lively bar is an ideal place to meet other guests. You can also use the free computer room. The multilingual staff at reception are happy to arrange city tours and excursions, and transport to Mexico City Airport can be organized at an extra cost.

No toilet paper in stalls. Need to ask every time. No noise control. No sleep. Blanket is 20 pesos, no refunds. Bed is hard, like sleeping on the floor. People steal food in fridge, limited access time. Some homeless live there.

“They overbooked and didn't want to refund my money”
After I paid my reservation, they told me there were no rooms left for me They made me wait around 20 minutes just to tell me they can't refund my booking in that moment and I'll need to wait up to 3 days. There were obviously hiding me the fact that they are able to provide me free cancelations So I had to insist and finally they told me that they have approved my cancelation request. This felt like an scam.

Hostal Amigo has the perfect location, next to the Zócalo and the metro station making it very convenient to explore the city. The place is very safe, clean, neat, and tidy. The staff is thoughtful, kind and always willing to help. I recommend it if you're coming to Mexico City.
