We spent two nights at “Nummer 8” in Meursault – and it was absolutely wonderful. John and Penelope have created a little paradise that they so warmly share with their guests. The house, with its 5 beautifully decorated double rooms, spacious open kitchen, and cozy living room, is tastefully designed with high-quality furnishings. The beds are especially worth mentioning – incredibly comfortable, like sleeping on clouds. From the very first moment, we felt completely at home thanks to their heartfelt hospitality. John and Penelope provided us with great tips for exploring Burgundy, excellent wine recommendations, and served a fantastic breakfast each morning.

Everything about No. 8 was fabulous. The hosts were so kind and welcoming, the property is outstanding and the beds were some of the most comfortable we have ever encountered in our travels. We hope to return soon as we enjoyed the area, the lovely accommodations and the kindness and helpfulness of John and Pen. We spend a lot of time traveling, and this was by far the best accommodation we’ve experienced.

Charming hosts who warmly welcomed our minute booking. Our beautifully furnished and heated bedroom and ensuite had crisp clean linen. We appreciated access to the gorgeous sitting room and although we didn’t drink any of their extensive available wines that night, we made a pot of tea and helped ourselves to cookies from the kitchen while we made ourselves at home on the sofas and streamed a movie through their tv.

An absolutely lovely stay in Meursault, the house is only for guests and very comfortable. The bedrooms are beautiful and well thought out and the living spaces (kitchen and living room) are so enjoyable after a long day to relax with a glass of local wine. The hosts Pen and John are incredible, good chat and able to recommend restaurants, wineries and facilities in both the local area and neighbouring towns. breakfast is complimentary and made up of local produce. We had a great stay, and hope to be back!

The property was absolutely wonderful and the hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. I would recommend staying there to anyone. I will definitely be back to stay there again.

The only thing we can say about this place is that it is perfect! The stunning scenery, the beautiful mansion with rooms with absolutely everything you could need, a comfortable bed,, an overflowing breakfast buffet and most of all the kindest and most helpful hosts you could imagine. We will recommend it to everyone we know!
