The place was nice and warm on arrival and was so well set up. Perfect place to stay while in methven. Would highly recommend, and would stay there again when coming to methven. Especially loved the lamp next to the couch, would love to know where I could get one.

“Perfection”

Cozy studio on a beautiful, immaculately maintained property set down a long driveway just a few mins drive from Methven shops and Opuke Thermal Pools. We arrived after dusk and the studio was lit up, heated, curtains pulled, heatpump and soft music on - so welcoming. Studio itself has been lovingly restored with high quality fixtures and fittings. Bed is super comfortable and linens etc are high quality. Kitchenette is well equipped though we didn’t cook - the Indian nearby was probably best we have ever had. Lovely bowl of walnuts from the property on the table. We didn’t get to use the spa at night but on a clear morning hopping in at daybreak is a treat - watching the sky colours change from one direction to seeing the sun hit the mountains in the other direction. As a host I have high standards and this host and property hit the mark perfectly.

Oh we are SO coming back!!! We absolutely loved the space. Nice, private, quiet, and tasteful. Every little thing was the way it should be - nice luxurious bathroom, tasteful furniture, friendly host, spa pool, the list is ongoing. Could not recommend this place more.

Loved to pet the baby sheep and how comfy the little studio was. Pity we didn’t stay longer. And thank you so much for sharing the historic gigantic delicious walnuts - they were Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! The cat coming in and greeting us in the morning was hilarious too.

Very private. Hosts emailed to say the room was ready and the door would be unlocked. Hosts were available if needed but respected our privacy. Facilities were incredible- very clean, tasteful, everything we needed and top quality.

Best holiday ever !!! Loved the property and everything about it !!! Comfy bed! Great facilities amazing spa, lambs that are super friendly beautiful gardens to walk around. Pubs, restaurants and shops nearby so super handy location . Host was friendly .

We absolutely loved staying at Northfield Studio! Arlene was a fantastic host and she was very responsive, friendly and helpful during our stay :) The interior of the studio that we stayed in was exceptionally clean, cosy and well designed with a vintage feel to it. We enjoyed reading about the history of the house. The gardens and surroundings are really beautiful as well, with well trimmed hedges and a pretty farm enclosure where the owners rear their sheep :) Arlene was also so kind to bring us to see her sheep, which are adorable! Situated in the small town of Methven, it is a perfect place for peaceful getaway. The town centre is nearby and it was easy to get food and shop for groceries. We would highly recommend staying at Northfield Studio. Thank you Arlene for hosting us!

Such a gorgeous studio, furnished and fitted out beautifully, with much appreciated extras, like milk in the fridge, coffee machine, quality teas and coffee and luxurious bathroom products. The owners were lovely and gave us complete privacy, but were there if we needed anything. Positioned well in the cute village of Methven too. We'd love to come back.

Northfields was honestly the most beautiful accomodation of our entire NZ trip and one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed! Arlene was an amazing host and the property is gorgeous. The flat itself has been so thoughtfully furnished with every little detail designed to bring comfort and beauty to the space. The hot tub gave us a wonderful way to wind down at the end of the day and stargaze.
