The breakfast was fantastic, much better than in many high end hotels. Unlimited freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh local fruit, hand brewed coffee, and incredibly friendly service brought to your table. The building is splendid and well located. The persons running the hotel were delightful. Nothing was difficult and all with a smile.

It was clean quiet and the owners had thought about everything lovely shower tea/coffee making in room we were offered a drink in the beautiful gardens on arrival. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of variety of local produce served to you at a table in the garden. The owners were attentive and very friendly. We extended our stay by 1 night but could have stayed longer it was lovely

Lovely traditional style hotel a minutes walk from the beach and cafes. My hosts were so helpful and friendly. Nice setting for breakfast. Parking right at the door. Balcony overlooking the village.

I highly recommend staying at Hotel Ulysses. It’s a small, welcoming place in Methoni with a genuinely special atmosphere. Breakfast is served on a romantic, flower-covered terrace — one of those moments you actually remember. The dramatic Methoni Castle — dating back to the Venetian period — is just a few steps away and feels like something out of a film. Thank you, Nikos.

The manager Nikos was wonderful. He told us everything we needed to know and places to visit. The breakfast was amazing. Freshly squeezed orange juice, best quality Greek cheese and a variety of delicious fresh fruit. Also, home-made deserts and yoghurt with honey. It was a great start to our day. There were also lots of books for us to read about the history of the area. We had the best time and when we left Nikos gifted us a bottle of extra virgin olive oil from his olive Grove. A beautiful gesture that was greatly appreciated.

Everything! I would rate it 11 if I could. The hosts are amazing, even to Greece standards of hospitality. The room and the garden are very nice and the breakfast included fresh local foods, some of them even made in house. It is like a tasting session. We have been to Greece many times and this was our best accommodation so far.

Everything was great, especially very friendly and helpfuly owners. Surely they are fulfilling their mission of "More home than hotel". A very quiet place.

Breakfast was the best we had in the Pelopennese

We had booked and paid for 7 nights at Ulysses Hotel in Methoni but ended up leaving after only 4 nights — we finally bit the sour apple and decided enough was enough. The hotel has clearly seen better days. This was obvious in the rusty balcony furniture, dilapidated skirting boards, loose toilet seats, and an air-conditioning unit that badly needed its filters cleaned. The moldy grout in the shower area was also off-putting. The air-conditioning unit is installed so that it blows directly onto the bed, which made sleeping uncomfortable. Breakfast was a real disappointment. There were no homemade jams, only cheap, pre-packaged plastic portions. The bread was the cheapest supermarket white bread with no alternatives. We were each served a single cherry tomato, one thin slice of Lebanese cucumber, and a sliver of cheese — plus a hard-boiled egg with no choice given. When we asked if we could have a soft-boiled egg instead, we were told we’d have to wait until the next day. The next morning, the owner’s partner asked what we meant by a soft-boiled egg and admitted she didn’t know how to make one! A single small, previously frozen cheese pastry rounded out the meagre spread. While the Greek yoghurt and fruit were nice enough, the breakfast overall felt stingy, unimaginative, and lacking any generosity of spirit. Unfortunately, our interactions with the host were also unpleasant and did nothing to improve the experience. I hadn’t planned to post a negative review, thinking my lone voice would look odd among all the glowing ones — but friends encouraged me to be honest, so here it is. I hope it helps others make an informed choice.

Loved the place and the location. The room is prefectly tailored for two and true to pictures. Breakfast was delicious. Little surprises from hosts were highly appreciated.

“Amazing boutique hotel”

Everything about this hotel was wonderful. The rooms were spotless and well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. The host and owner could give a master class on service and hospitality. The breakfast was excellent, the location very close to everything in Methoni, and the hotel contained wonderfully unique and loving touches and flourishes. After three years living in Greece this has been my favorite boutique hotel.

Hosts are friendly and the hotel is traditional and homely. It is very well located close to the beach, centre and castle. The breakfast is excellent and substantial and served on a lovely terrace. The hotel is very clean and serviced daily. Easy to park on the street next to hotel. Our leaving gift was much appreciated.

Within a short walk of Methoni's beach and extraordinary castle, we loved the location and peacefulness of the Ulysses Hotel. Nikos was a wonderful host - friendly and helpful - great to chat with. Our breakfast, taken in the nicely shaded courtyard, was a treat of many delights.
