“More than a hotel. An exceptional stay supporting nomadic families and children’s education”

We stayed at Desert Villa Merzouga for 2 nights and had an excellent experience. The food was the best Moroccan cuisine we had during our entire trip. The hotel is run by friendly brothers who are incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable about the area, and happy to help arrange activities such as quad biking. The rooms were very clean, with effective air conditioning and excellent water pressure in the shower. We also appreciated the laundry service available at the hotel and the heated swimming pool, which was perfect for relaxing after a day in the desert. What made our stay even more meaningful was learning about the owner’s commitment to the local community. He runs an NGO that supports education for nomadic children and helps improve living conditions in remote areas by funding and digging wells and installing solar-powered water pumps. It is inspiring to see tourism being used to create a positive impact for local families. The location is ideal—just a 2-minute walk to the dunes and about 6 minutes on foot to Merzouga’s main street. Overall, a wonderful stay with outstanding hospitality, comfort, and convenience. Knowing that your stay also supports someone making a real difference in the community makes it even more special. Highly recommended!

Desert Villa Boutique Hotel was an outstanding stay. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and spotlessly maintained, and the food was consistently excellent. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff. Mohamed went above and beyond, always happy to help and incredibly accommodating, even when we changed our plans at the last minute. The level of hospitality and attention to detail exceeded expectations. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Merzouga.

“Amazing hotel!”

We can’t recommend this place enough! The hotel is run by two brothers and you can really tell that they run this hotel with all their heart. The hotel is beautiful and really clean. The room had a big bed and a great shower. There are a lot of desert camps in Merzouga but I would recommend staying at this hotel. It is about a two minute walk from the sand dunes. Closer than a lot of the camps. And you get all the luxury you can get. We had dinner at the hotel. Which we would also highly recommend. The food was delicious. We didn’t book a sand dunes tour in advance (with another operator) and asked the owners of the hotel if they could do a tour for us. They were happy to arrange it. It was the most amazing experience with a lot of information and great sights to see.

If you are not planning to "glamp" in Merzouga, I would highly recommend staying in this excellent family friendly hotel. We had the pleasure of getting to know the owners, Youssef and Mohammed along with their delightful family. They were both so welcoming and provided us with an exceptional experience in the desert. Youssef took time to talk to us about his life, the life of nomads and interesting facts about the area. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts and dinners during our three-day stay in the desert. Everything was absolutely perfect—easily a 100 out of 100! Yousef and his brother have created this oasis with genuine passion, love, and care. The room offers a शानदार view of the dunes, especially during sunrise and sunset. The bed is clean, cozy, and warm, and the shower has reliable hot water. The food is exceptional, with the best variety we’ve experienced so far. What truly makes this desert villa stand out, however, is Yousef. He goes above and beyond to ensure his guests feel comfortable and well taken care of. When our small Renault had a minor issue on the way to Merzouga, he quickly helped resolve it. He also showed us how to explore the dunes on foot and even took amazing photos for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would 100% recommend it!

An absolutely incredible place. Easily the best place to stay in Merzouga. The design and decor of the building is lovely. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. We will 100% stay here next time we visit. Everyone was incredibly helpful. We really appreciated being looked after for our meals (we’re both vegan and I have a mushroom allergy). I genuinely could not have been happier with our stay.

This hotel is special, but what truly makes the experience unforgettable are the owners, Mohamed and his brother. Mohamed shared his family story with us — it’s worthy of a movie. He personally took us to amazing non-touristic places and treated us like family. We travel a lot, but we have never felt such warmth and care. The food and the view from our window were also amazing.

Amazing location, beautiful and clean newly built hotel in front of the dunes. Mohamed and his brother Youssef are the proud owners of the property and are the nicest people we met during our stay in Morocco. They truly care about their hosts and do make you really feel at home. The food was really good. Mohamed went above and beyond to male our daily excursion an unforgettable one and even prepared a take away meal for us on the day we left. We could not be happier and we highly recommend this lovely place to anyone that wishes to experience true moroccan hospitality.

Everything. My new brothers Youssef and Mohamed were great - really made us feel welcome. Also helped with anything that we needed. The place is just like - if not better - than what you see in the pictures. Their kitchen is great - their beef tangine was out of this world. If you are visiting Merzouga stay at least 1 day here. You will not regret it.

This was truly a dream! The hotel was absolutely stunning. The interior was unbelievably beautiful—I couldn’t take my eyes off it. And the view of the desert was just the cherry on top. Such a beautiful hotel with a wonderful room—we slept so well! The hosts were incredibly kind. Hearing their life story and how they made their dream come true inspired me so much. You can really feel how much love and effort they’ve put into everything. You truly feel treated like family, as if you’re at home. The service was excellent! We also had a fantastic meal there for very little money—really top-notch. They even arranged a birthday cake for me, which touched me deeply. I’m so grateful for this amazing experience. A very good breakfast and the exceptional dinner we ordered. Home-cooked food. A good, clean pool. Don't look anywhere else; this is exceptional!
