“Decent 1 night stay”
The staff put in genuine effort for their guests. We were the only ones in the camp. They went above and beyond and it was excellent with regards to that. The food is plentiful and well cooked. The word ‘luxury’ is a stretch. But it is definitely luxury compared to the uninhabitable surroundings. So remember this when you book! It is luxury compared to a sand dune. Ibrahim our guide for our 4x4 tour was excellent.

“Lovely stay in the heart of the desert with very friendly people”
We had a wonderful stay at Amskou camp, it was the best part of our trip to Morocco! We stayed 2 nights and had the camp to ourselves after the 1st night. Youssef and Ali took very good care of us. The food was very good and on the first evening, they played great music at the camp fire, together with 2 other musicians. Youssef was always smiley, friendly and helpful. The tents were spacious and from one of them, you have a great view onto the desert. We loved walking around, sandboarding and the camel ride to see the sunset was very nice as well. We highly recommend this camp and thank Youssef and Ali with all our hearts! Tanemmirt:-)

“Super stay!”
Ali is a great host, caring, helpful and funny in a very nice way. He will do everything to make your stay comfortable. Room/tent is spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Hot water available at a request (my family of 4 people could take a nice hot shower). The heating (aircon with heating function) was working very well. We were in January, where temperature at night was only 2-3 degrees and we still could sleep in a warm tent. Beds were comfortable and duvets were big and warm and bed linen were clean. The food prepared by camp was delicious - great Berber omlette and Tagine. The camp itself is well arranged and pleasant. It is one of the closest to the dunes, maybe 15-20 minutes and you are close to the bigest dunes (we were walking alone there). If you need to rent a quad (which we did), Ali can help with everything. Overall a very nice stay! Dariusz (Poland) and a family.

“The place to stay of going to a desert camp!”
Im blown away, this was one of my favourite “hotel” experiences ever!! Will remember this experience forever! We booked this place considering it was the only one that clearly stated they would have a pick up to take us to camp, we where greeted as family, the tents are ultra luxury and it’s hard to believe we had this experience with dinner and breakfast included for this price! Will recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit the desert!! Thank you!!!!!!

“Unique and incredible experience in the Sahara Desert”
We had an incredible experience with stunning views of the sand dunes, engaging activities, and plenty of delicious food. We spent two nights at the camp, where we enjoyed a private 4x4 tour, camel riding at sunset, evening Berber music, and stargazing. The staff were very welcoming. We highly recommend booking the private 4x4 tour for a truly unique experience in the Sahara Desert.

“A GEM in the desert!! Choose this camp it is fantastic.”
The staff here felt like they were friends after only one night. They were so friendly, talkative and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Our transfer was included in the price, the camp is away from Merzouga we passed many camps on the way, thankfully this location there is only one camp visible in the distance. Very remote location with stunning views of the dunes which are a few minutes walk away. The night sky was incredible. We were taken into the dunes to sandboard in the evening which was so much fun and a great photo opportunity. The evening meal and breakfast was delicious. In the morning we chose to pay for a camel tour setting off at 5am to watch the sunset - this is a must!! We were blown away by the value for money here. We had low expectations after reading blogs about how staying in the desert had been tainted by over tourism but in fact this is one of the best travel experiences we have had to date!

“Spectacular”
Don't be confused by other camp locations on Booking's map, there are no camps allowed in the sand dunes anymore. You can either stay in Merzouga (good for sunrise photos) or on the eastern side of the dunes (for sunset). What makes Amskou special: - relatively quiet due to its location away from the camps further south and their pesky quads - only 10 tents, large und super comfortable - great food - easygoing staff - mercifully short evening music entertainment - 4x4 transfer included We had a camel ride to get into the dunes before sunset (30 mins one way), some guests accompanied the trek on foot. Sunset on a 150m high dune is spectacular. We even got up early to walk there again for sunrise. And oh, don't forget to take a look at the night sky.

“So nice experience…big thank you…😊”
So nice experience. Count it is a bit higher price than rest of camps in this area but its better design…transfer included and no hiden costs. Bed was so comfortable…amazing for the camp. Dinner is made from farm products…its local “Tajine”, one vegetable Tajine and one chicken Tajine. And yes…staff is perfect…do their best to welcome us.

“Best desert experience”
Beautiful place and people! The manager and owner are great with guests, and also organize 4x4 tour to discover more of the Barber culture which was the highlight of the visit. The tent are enormous and well designed and decorated. Dinners delicious and the soup the best one we hed in 3 months travelling to Morocco. The desert is an incredible experience and the staff here wil make it even more incredible. Pick up is free from the meeting point! Just go for it!

“not recommended”
NO heating at night! We heard ridiculous explanations – the heating wasn’t working, they claimed it was due to a lack of fuel in the generator, or that it was too loud and someone complained, so they turned it off. We were traveling with a small 7-month-old baby, but that didn’t matter to them at all. Moreover, the owner refused to speak with us on the phone, was rude, and hung up. We got our money back through Booking. The Sahara tour was in a very, very old car that barely worked. Not worth the price. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Everything went just perfect. It was really a pleasure to be a guest at Amskou Camp. Great tent in which you can feel like in luxury apartment, good food and amazing service including Berber music show. “Authentic place near the dunes”
Very nice camp. We got a tent with very beautiful view to dunes. Clear communications. When we try to book hotel In dunes we found a lot of comments of extra charges for transportation, etc. There was everything clear. If you want to go with camels you have to pay extra, if you want to go directly to the camp - they pick you up for free. Dinner and breakfast was good. We expected evening with local Berber music and with real fire outside, but it was winter time, so music was in the main tent with gas heater, but we really liked it. Camp is not in a dunes. You have to walk 7-10 minutes to reach them but after half an hour you can be in really high dunes.
