Gorgeous nature, loved seeing the monkeys from our terrace. Interesting construction, we had 2 rooms in the tower like building. Spacious room, comfortable bed. amazing sunset view from the terrace. Great little restaurant onsite with food cooked on the spot from fresh ingredients. The owner was very welcoming and helped us with excursions and putting us in contact with taxis etc. Highly recommended!

“Perfect place for a calm stay in Ometepe, focussed on local communities, nature and amazing food.”

We stayed at Michael's place for three nights in late April 2026. Michael allowed us a late check-in which was really convenient. The property is very beautiful, many different beautiful plants in the garden in diverse shapes and colours. Very cute and child-friendly dogs. The terrace of the room we stayed in has a marvellous view over the lake, including the sunset. His wife takes care of the food and offers a wider variety of incredibly delicious dishes including fresh fish from the lake, tasty meat from the neighbouring farms as well as vegetarian and vegan options (breakfast, lunch, dinner). The location of the accommodation is ideal, not far away from the main street so it’s easy to get there, but still sufficiently far up to have a great view and no noise from the main street. The latter offers great options for food, in case you want to try other things.

Beautiful family owned place, super friendly hosts willing to help with everything. The food served here is incredibly tasty. The place is really accessible and a great location to see the sunset.

“Wonderful country location near beaches, quiet and well run”

The location was excellent on the smaller part of the island away from the hustle of the port. It was near the best beaches on the island and a some good restaurants. The restaurant at the Jungle was also very good, home made food. The family owned business provided us with all kinds of information around the island. It was very good value

Maykel and his family are very kind. The room was amazing, great view and comfortable bed, everything was clean and tidy. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast next morning and the great coffee. You can also join The jungle during the day to eat and we would totally recommend both the restaurant and the stay.

We saw howler monkeys outside our room every morning, which made it feel like we were really in the middle of the jungle. Very peaceful place, nice modern rooms and friendly, helpful staff. We had an amazing stay

Beautiful place with great views. The rancho area had plenty of space for eating, working, and family gatherings. Food can be ordered and purchased from the owner. Everything we ordered was fantastic! The owners were very accommodating of our two large dogs. His daughter gave the dogs a stuffed animal toy :)

good view. The restaurant in the hotel is delicious. There is also another restaurant near here. Come to here to enjoy the Kayak trip. I took two times. Highly recommend to stay in the Jungle. The environment is relaxing. You can see the sky full of stars and good sunset

“Best place in ometepe”

This place is the best you can find in ometepe is really amazing in a very lush garden full of amazing plants and monkey and the rooms are very nice and clean and the food is very well , thank you Mikel to arrange everything for us

“Incredibly great stay - you have to stay here in Ometepe”

Super nice host family who takes care of everything. The owner speaks perfect English and really tries to make everything possible in terms of wishes. The food is always freshly prepared by the host mother, so it sometimes takes a little longer, but tasted so good. The garden is well maintained with many different plants. Everything is kept clean and I was offered several times that they clean my room. Sometimes there are shorter power outages, but this is due to the island. Otherwise, the w-lan connection is also very good. I will definitely come again when I go to Ometepe. If you are coming from Liberia (Costa Rica), take the 8 a.m. Bus to the border. Then you can make the ferry at 1:30 p.m. and catch the chicken bus at 2:40 p.m. that goes to Merida to your lodging. It is the only chicken bus at this time. If you miss it you will have to take a private car.

We stayed in the upstairs room - the views were incredible, close to the waterfall, amazing garden/ wildlife and the food was sooo good!
