Everything perfect! Nice place with lots of friendly animals, amazing (and cheap) food, Kolibris visiting for breakfast. She really cares and is just a lovely person. Would always come again.

Our stay in Casa Papaki was amazing! Located in Merida, really close to Playa Mango and Playa Peru, and only 10-15 minutes from Balgue, Casa Papaki has everything you could ask for from your visit to Ometepe! A big thank you to sweet Teresa for her smile and help with everything!

We were welcomed to the property with open arms by Teresa who made us feel at home. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the food was delicious.

“Perfect home from home in ometepe Island”

Loved the homely peaceful atmosphere and location. The owner is so friendly and understanding - we extended without an issue and our room was very clean and spacious + airy with a big room fan that always kept us cool. I had a few women issues with blood on the towels and sheets but it wasn’t a problem and the owner was so kind and understanding. Location is walkable to most popular playa mangos but we rented bikes so we could fully explore the island which everyone does on ometepe! Full home style kitchen and lovely hammocks and seating. + a super friendly cuddly cat and several other animals - thank you for our 4 night stay !! We would recommend and definitely come back!

“Lovey base for exploring Merida”

The rooms are huge, the setting peaceful, the food good, and the host — Teresa — a joy. Also, a secure place for parking vehicles and good Wi-Fi.

Great location, perfect place to relax amongst nature and animals. Theresa was the perfect host, always on hand for help, We booked another 2 days there because we liked it so much! Could not recommend any more

The room is spacious, the bed was comfortable, everything very clean, the internet was very good. I could sleep in the night, it was very quiet. Teresa was very kind and friendly, she cooks the best pancakes 😍 everything what we eat there was delicious. She made us feel at home even though she doesn’t speak English. We got the feeling “sleeping at our grandma’s house”. I will definitely come back

“Local stay in paradise!”

Absolutely loved our stay with Teresa, we had the best time. Teresa is a very warm hearted, caring host who cooks the best and freshest meals with ingredients from her beautiful garden. It felt like staying in paradise. She greatly helped us organize scooters and it’s a great location to explore the island. We were very sad to leave, and cannot recommend this place enough. Muchas gracias por todo!

“Truly magical”

I'm so greatful I stumbled upon this place. After backpacking for 3 months, and in much need of a quiet place to settle down for a few days, Papaki really did us justice! The whole experience was so wholesome and magical. Teresa sorted us out with a scooter almost the moment we got there! (Papaki is located in a great spot to learn how to drive if you're a beginner like me). She also has more contacts for tours and great advice/ information for anything you may need/want. It's in a lovely, quaint location with a short walk to Playa Peru, and Playa Mango. The food she cooked for us was so fresh and delicious. After having dinner there on our first night, we ended up eating every other meal with her during our stay of 4 nights. We were in desperate need of some home-cooked delicious food like hers. She really is a god in the kitchen, plus she's open to requests! A lot of her fruit and veg comes from her garden, she makes her pesto fresh too... big bonus! Besides that, the room was lovely and comfortable, the bathroom was great. Everything was so clean. The garden is absolutely beautiful, and so relaxing to hang out. But Teresa is what made our stay so wonderful, and we throughly enjoyed getting to know her and listening to her stories. She truly is a wonderful person, thank you again for everything and we thoroughly hope to visit you again soon!

The lady was very sweet and such a good host. My boyfriend hurt his knee on the scooter and she treated the wound very carefully. There is also an optional breakfast which was exceptionally good!

“Homestay oasis”

Gorgeous scenery, listen to howler monkeys as you wake up. Located close to nature and attractions like the waterfall hike and sunset view points. We were looked after so well. Wonderful stay, with adorable pets. Just be prepared for the warmth. The fan helps but during May it was stuffy!

“very neat farmstay with a wonderful host”

Teresa is a wonderfully kind host. The room is nicely designed and was very comfortable with a desk and a large bathroom. Coffee in the morning was a big treat. Large, well kept grounds where they home grow their vegetables. I liked the quiet location. It's walkable to Playa Mango for sunset drinks. For other places like Balgüe, you need a scooter which they have a provider on call. It's fun to ride the scooter between Mérida and Balgüe. The bus to Moyogalpa leaves right in front. I was very happy I stayed here.

“Great host and super good bedroom!”

Arriving at Casa Papaki after a long travel by bus was really good. The room and bathroom were spacious, clean and organized, the bed was super good. Teresa is really an amazing host, helped with everything and cooks really well. I highly recommend eating at home! I also had a small problem with the payment and Teresa was super patient.

Nice location, close to main attractions ( el pital, playa peru, playa mango, cascada san cristobal….) friendly staff, the terrace was really nice. I liked that there were some friendly dogs in the Casa, also some chicken. We had nice stay.

“A brilliant stay with a brilliant host”

Great location short walk to Playa Mango’s for the sunset. Teresa was an excellent host, warm & welcoming and a terrific cook, we ended up eating there every evening

It is ideally located in walkable distance of the Mango Beach and not far from the San Ramón Waterfall and Maderas vulcano. We felt immediately at home due to the warm welcome of the host.

Very lovely and beautiful place in the middle of the jungle. In the morning we were greeted by houwler monkeys that were chilling in the trees next to the house. Teresa was super sweet with our little son and shared a lot with us about her own family history and Nicaragua. Playa Mangos and El Peru in walking distance. Highly recommended, you wont regret it!

“Beautiful home with excellent hospitality”

Teresa was absolutely lovely—an excellent host. Our room was very clean and the bed was large and comfy. Teresa was also an excellent cook we really enjoyed her pasta dish! We accidentally broke one of the tiles in the bathroom during our stay and Teresa was really understanding and we really appreciated that. The wifi was also very reliable.
