Overview
Just 10 minutes' walk to the Mendocino Art Center and shopping and dining in downtown Mendocino, the Hill House Inn offers rooms with fireplaces. Free WiFi is included. The property needs an urgent facelift, the rooms, carpets, amenities are old. Its like stepping into the 1980's. The lady that checked us in was wonderful, However the investors really need to put some money in this place!

“One can only imagine how wonderful it would have been!”
If we’d stayed there it would probably have been quite lovely! However, prior to our arrival we were told the property had closed down and we were being booked into the Mendocino Hotel instead, which was fine as wedding stayed there before.

“You could see the potential of this property. After needed upgrades we might consider another visit.”
Location was good. Large rooms. Very clean. Great water pressure. Some of the inn's old charm still manages to shine through. Staff was excellent.

“Quaint. Basic. Very nice for what it is.”
Lovely and quaint decor. Nice photos of Angela Lansbury and guest stars of Murder, She Wrote. Rooms are large.

“Comfortable, good location, affordable”
Although the hotel is a bit long in the tooth, the important things are in good order: spacious room, good shower, comfortable beds, coffee maker, friendly staff, parking in front of the room, good wifi and a totally acceptable price. Also, great location in walking distance to the town center.

“Charming hotel in a wonderful town”
Hotel was cute. Somewhere between grandma kitsch and retro chic. Room was large and comfortable. Town was very nice. Short walk away with great restaurants and cutesy shops.
