Consistently great place to stay. Good management, good staff, and the facilities, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, rooftop recreation and balcony, are top rate. The inclusive daily activities create also foster a warm, welcoming environment. Definitely an intelligent, social, but not party house, hostel decision.

The staff who I met or saw working were brilliant, with the stand out being Lana who went above and beyond to help me with an easy check-in and helping find an item I had accidentally left behind. Lana made my stay really relaxed which was a very welcome surprise and just what I needed. The room size was great, and the duvet was incredibly warm and snuggly! The en-suite bathroom was great - clean, with a large shower, plenty of bench space and a large mirror. The kitchen facilities were good and were being cleaned when I went in there. Having the bar and restaurant downstairs - with a discount for SummerHouse guests was brilliant. Great location with easy to access transport and walkable distances. Would love to stay again!!

The vibe is quiet but also social. The rooms are comfortable. Bathrooms are excellent, and the kitchen is well layed out, and well equipped. Location can't be beat. The roof top area is great for working, studying, or just relaxing, and the daytime, night time views are stunning. Having the Barkly Hotel downstairs, for great pub food and drinks at amazing prices is icing on the cake. A very thoughtfully planned and executed place to stay for one night or plenty. ☺️

Good location

Very good place with a great daily organisation without even speaking of the daily events. You are always welcome by the staff with a nice smile. The greateat hostel i've ever been so far. Close to the beach. If I go back to Saint Kilda, this is where i'll go. I've only put 4 on the rooms because some lockers are hard to use

The hostel is spacious and clean! The kitchen is a great size and the addition of the air fryers makes such a difference. Bed was super comfy and the rooftop is the perfect size for the amount of guests. All the staff and volunteers are so helpful and friendly, anything I needed they were happy to help with.

“Avoid this hostel!! Flea infestation and poor management”

Avoid this hostel. Very poor management by Marie, she can’t handle people and obviously not a hostel. There was a serious flea infestation in our room (photos available), when we reported it, the situation was handled very poorly by her. Housekeeping threw away our labelled food by mistake, when we asked for the refund, she wouldn’t even care. There’s no common areas to chill after 8pm, which makes the place even worse. Overall, very bad management and an uncomfortable place to stay. So many rules, it’s like a prison not a place to have fun. Would not recommend at all.
