“Friendly budget accommodation”
This isn’t the style of accommodation I usually stay in, so it wasn’t the right fit for me personally. I didn’t feel entirely comfortable and some of the other guests gave the place a slightly odd vibe. That said, the lady running it is genuinely lovely — extremely accommodating and clearly doing her best. The building is old, but the rooms have been renovated, are clean, and are well presented, just very basic. For the price, it delivers exactly what it promises: simple, budget accommodation. If that’s what you’re after, it will do the job.

“Nice convenient location and good value for money”
Location - close to the Clarendon Street tram and MSAC (great outdoor pool) The Clarendon Street tram goes right into the CBD. We had a lovely meal at the Emerald Hotel (very close by). The South Melbourne markets are about a 15-minute walk away. The room was great for the price - being able to open the window a plus. We could leave our luggage at the property before and after check-in. The lift.

Good after hours access, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the furnishings quaint. Air conditioning was functional. the TV worked for 'free to air' viewing.

Location, location. Quiet and handy to our planned outing. We were upgraded to a superior room with heaps of space. The king size bed was very comfortable. We got lost in the disabled bathroom. It was clean. Very important. The price was the best. Hard to get this for that price.
