The owner Sam has converted an old house so it has compromises, unlike a purpose built hostel, but these are insignificant. He runs it in an easygoing and helpful fashion and the atmosphere is relaxed. An example of the thought he has put into it is that the charging sockets will accept a variety of international plugs.

The staff is great and very helpful! The location is great!

Very quiet place, bed was nice, although a bit more soft in the middle, bathroom clean, very central, they offered water, shower gel/shampoo and Towel for free.

The property is very close to all the tourist sights and easily within walking distance. Couldn't ask for a better location. Sam who runs the property was really helpful and welcoming and as a local guy himself is a good source of local knowlege.

Great stay at Ola Hostel! Super clean, well located in the heart of Malacca, and a good set up to meet people.

Super clean, host is a really nice fella, brought fresh towels to us in the morning and made sure we knew everything we needed to on arrival. Unfortunately had to leave early due to circumstance but would definitely stay again and recommend this place to anyone!

Great large room (private room), very clean, with a very large and comfortable bed, good air-conditioning and fan, overlooking the beautiful front street and it's very quite at night. The host is very kind and helpful. The common seating area and the whole premises is tasteful and peaceful. The toilets/showers and washbasins are good sized and cleaned regularly.

Amazing little place, few rooms, I had a lovely welcome and the room upstairs that I had was great and nice equipped. Lovely decor of the hostel. I will come again!

Everything was perfect, the staff was really friendly, the location was the best one and bathrooms and bedrooms were so clean.

The hostel is near the street market with a chill atmosphere. They clean everyday and the owner is very accommodating. Very cosy and nice place!

Great location, friendly staff, comfortable beds, I received a new towel every day, there's a laundry and coffee shop, and the common area is good to socialise.

“Lovely hostel, but smoking shouldn't be allowed”

Nice modern hostel, the bathrooms were always super clean. However, the courtyard area (the only communal area) allowed smoking, this was difficult and meant we couldn't use any of the communal parts of the hostel. Not the place to stay if you have asthma.
