“Wonderful stay in a quiet and welcoming place”

The house is warm and welcoming, Everything is well thought out and nicely decorated. Johan is a wonderful host, a great person. There are 5 rooms (double bed) and 2 separated bathrooms (2 showers, 4 toilets and 4 sinks in total). Bed linen and towels are provided. The kitchen is very convenient, with everything you need to cook a proper meal. The dining-room has a tv, a fire place 3 sofas and a great view on the fjord. We made several walks in tne surroundings, the scenery is wonderful during winter time! You can borrow snowshoes if needed. We also spent 2 hours in the sauna, watching an endless sunset on the fjord, what a view!

“Serene and friendly stay in Norwegian nature”

Very serene surroundings. One cat start a snowshoe hike right behind the property. Johan is very friendly and attentive and has lots of good advice and suggestions for the area. We also booked the sauna which was amazing and was overlooking the fjord.

“What an amazing place!”

I cannot recommend this place enough!! I wish we could have stayed longer. The location is amazing, with a view to the fjord. We rented the sauna - probably one of the most impressive sauna views you will ever get to witness. We had the chance to use the sleds down the hill, which was such a fun experience. Johan was so kind and helped us with everything. He has organised the place perfectly, even providing snow shoes, torches and overall suits. We even caught a glimpse of the aurora at night :)

From the moment we entered the building, we felt at home. All these little details, the cosy fireplace, the cleanliness and of course the lovely sweet treats make this place the perfect spot to experience the calm but stunning nature of Northern Norway. Listening to Johan's stories about the items makes it even more special. We extended our stay from 1 planned night to 3 and could hardly leave. Johan provides a lot of equipment (such as snowshoes, reflecting vests, headlamps, ...) and there is even a sauna at the sea! We also enjoyed connecting with other travellers, the open space of the accommodation invites to do so. The facilities are very modern and well-maintained, the beds are probably the most comfortable ones we have ever slept in and the price is absolutely fair! For us, this accommodation is a clear 10/10! Johan and Gunn Heidi, thank you so much for your warm hospitality and all the passion you put into "Finnvikhaugen Rooms"! Hope to see you again someday.

“A most fabulous Christmas break”

We were so blessed to have found Finnvikhaugen Rooms for our Christmas getaway! As we were flying on Christmas Day we couldn’t find any car hire and feared we’d be stuck at the Tromso airport for Christmas night. We were deeply thankful that Johan (the host) was able to pick us up from the airport, even having to brace the snow storm that was coming in. Johan’s place was absolutely marvellous 😍 with a cosy and warm setting in a white wonderland next to the sea. The rooms are immaculate and so clean. The lounge had a large window looking out to the hills and sea, with a roaring fire in the wood burner adding to the character and charm 😍 We were looking forward to dog sledding in the Arctic circle so booked the activity in the Malangen resort long before the holiday. However, the resort informed us the night before that unfortunately they had to cancel due to lack of snow! We were very disappointed but Johan kindly offered us the experience using his and his sister’s huskies ❤️ the huskies were so well looked after they were such a happy bunch 🤩 we sled though the hills, frozen lake and forest…we had the time of our lives! THANK YOU SO MUCH Johan and family ❤️ you are the kindest people we’ve ever met! The whole experience is beyond our expectations. I can’t recommend highly enough! Will not hesitate to come back 😁❤️

“Coming Back Again!”

The host, Johan was amazing. He was kind, friendly and full of hospitality! He has mentioned us to get some groceries before coming there because it is located in the place that doesn't have a supermarket nearby. And the information was very useful and dinner preparation went smooth at the kitchen. He offered us sauna, wood stove and to chill on the couch with tv and that was exactly what we needed. we could relax fully and his hospitality touched our souls. The room was big enough for both of us and clean, the bed was comfortable and we could sleep well. The little tiny details of the ornaments in the facility was so cute to look at! Personally, I liked the little shoes with plants and wooden sauna backet with a ladle:) We would like to come back in summer in the good weather to meet him and stay there again!

I've never rated an acommodation with a 10 but really, the place exceeded my expectations. Cozy, super clean and quiet, it's the kind of accommodation you want when looking for a place to relax and explore Norway, both in winter and summer. But not only this accommodation is exceptional, Johan went the extra mile to make us feel like at home, he made it the easier for us to enjoy our stay whenever he could, even helping us when our travel plans changed unexpectedly. Don't let the distance from Tromso scare you, this place is amazing :)

It is one of the best places we have stayed overnight in Norway, on our way back to Tromso. Cosy & charming setting, comfy bed. The fire in the living room and the coffee machine is a big plus. And we saw Aurora Borealis :)

Great place amongst nature next to the water. Very clean and tidy. All the facilities for cooking. Coffee machine and Johan made a cozy fire for me. Would definitely recommend staying here.

“Amazing & wonderful!”

We loved to stay at those wonderful rooms. The owner put so much love in every detail. And the owner is so warm-hearted and welcoming. He prepared the tracks for crosscountry skiing and snowshoe hiking for us, he told us when the northern lights appear, and we had very good talks and an amazing time with him. We are still so flashed by our experience we had at this wonderful place. And we miss it a lot already. This made our travels to Norway an amazing experience.

Johan is just amazing, a better Host rarely can be found. Room and accommodation just superbe as well.

This is one of the best locations we have ever been in Norway. Great spot to see the Northern Light. Fireplace Spacious kitchen. Everything very clean. The beds slept perfect. We stayed 2 nights instead of 1 Johan does everything to make your stay the best.
