On the first day, I decided to extend my stay, and when I asked the receptionist if that was possible, she said there were no rooms available and that I should check again the next morning at the earliest. This was difficult because I already had to plan what to do with the rest of my stay. I went back up to my room, opened Booking.com, and immediately saw that rooms were available, so I booked one. I went downstairs to ask if we could stay in the same room. I was told no, and the next day it turned out that even though I had specified two separate beds (I was with my adult son), there was only one shared bed. I eventually got the room, but it was an unpleasant experience because the receptionist made every request I had more difficult and, I felt, tried to ensure I didn’t get what I wanted. With several interactions with the same person, it became increasingly difficult and less and less pleasant. And that overshadowed the rest of my experience

This stay was spoiled due to price of taxi fare to airport 285 euros which I didn’t book felt this extremely expense rip tourist off But hotel apartment from one night the bar was closed 8pm

The location was perfect for our trip and the restaurant and bar facilities were fantastic.

“Extremely disappointing”

Interesting building architecturally, disappointingly converted. Serious safety concerns that need addressing. I fell and injured myself on an inadequately marked ridge in the corridor outside our room. A sign, in English only, at ceiling level, out of the line of sight of anyone of normal height is totally unacceptable as are pathetic little warning cards on the skirting. These 'humps' need a yellow/black hazard tape across the carpeting. Over two nights I failed to find a stairway to reach reception in the event of a fire. Better signage is essential. Signage in the lifts is inadequate/bizarre. I twice ended up in the kitchens while trying to reach reception. Do hotels normally have the same lifts serving guests and kitchens? I stress...these issues need addressing on safety grounds. The injuries from my fall were not serious - I could have broken my wrists or smashed my face on the floor. An elderly person could easily have been so damaged as to commence terminal decline.

Excellent location in the heart of Mechelen. Good parking. Friendly staff. Very nice old building completely renewed I went for work but felt like a mini holiday. Excellent value for the money.

The hotel facilities are nice and beautiful. The restaurant is good. The front office staff was not friendly.

Liked the size of the room and everything about the room except for the pillows, and would have liked to have a bigger fridge. The hotel is really beautiful and will definitely stay there again:)

The uber is not able to come in right infront of the property. When asked the reception she said taxi yes they will come in and uber they are not sure if they are come in. I feel the reception can at least let us know how we can direct the uber in.
