“Expensive for a guesthouse with no staff.”
The concept of restoring an old traditional house for a guesthouse is wonderful and has potential but with zero human staff and instead replacing it with tablets, long emails of guest registration and information, as well as cameras it does the opposite. It does not charm at all.

“It’s a nice location for a reasonable price, provided with parking area, make our stay convenient! We mistakenly mess up”
I like how it has a big common space for my family to gather around. I like the kitchen has all that we need especially the water dispenser with hot water perfect for winter.

“perfect”
everything was perfect—very peaceful spot with an interesting heritage house. everything you need with nothing your missing! nice little garden to drink your coffee. probably my favourite spot out of the 12 different hotels I stayed at in japan.

“authentic old style house, very beautiful and relaxing.”
it's an amazingly beautiful house in old style, wind rattles the paper walls, fireplace in the living room, and you can imagine how life must have bee then, in a residential neigbourhood. I got the whole house on my own and soft jazzy piano music kept me company. The owner is super friendly, and gave me a lift back to the station. He lend me a bicycle for the 3 days, which is a great way of exploring a lot of temples and Dogo. Highly recommended!

“Amazing place, would recommend!”
The place was perfect for our group, we had a lot of space, got to borrow bikes for free, utilised the big kitchen. We loved the atmosphere of the place and all agreed that we would stay here again, it was lovely. The owners were very kind and offered us anything we needed.

“Great stay in Matsuyama”
Guesthouse Onoya was a beautifully renovated old Japanese home with a tonne of character and charm. Our family room was very comfortable and all of the facilities extremely clean. The courtyard gardens were also lovely. The house is in a very quiet location, but still within walking distance to shops and restaurants. In addition, Guesthouse Omoya was excellemt value for money. We would happily stay here again.

“Go, if only for the staff!”
Besides the awesome building, the amazing talks you can have with people and the very appreciated free bicycles and air conditoning. I especially recommend staying here because of the amazing staff. The owner does anything possible to make your stay here comfortable, and he brightens up any room he is in. You should also check out his café in the city center!

It was a traditional japanese house, which was a unique experience on its own, and it had everything needed.
