Convenient location at the centre of the town, close to the seaside, cruise port, train station, parks and temples. The building was clean and welcoming, and had everything I needed. The host was very helpful, spoke good English, and was happy to chat. We had a few fascinating conversations duing my 2-night stay. I wish I booked for a little longer.

Excellent location, only a few minutes from water front but felt very quiet which i liked. Host was very lovely and welcoming and the property was spotlessly clean. Couldn't recommend more.

Possibly the best location in town "H" recommend a really beautiful local restaurant to us the food was amazing. The accommodation is very modern and very clean, theres free parking also which is very handy, H gave us a little night cap when we got back from dinner the sake what he treated us to was lovely. Theres a fantastic bakery around the corner that does great pasties which was ideal for breakfast,a extra pillows in the room would have been good as they were very small, we would definitely stay here again.

The location is excellent because it's near the JR station and famous spots. Outside the guesthouse are stores. The room is perfect with heater and clean bed. The owner is warm-hearted and hospitable and good at both English and Japanese. Strongly recommended!!!

An exceptional stay. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and perfectly located—just a short walk to the harbour, Main Street, and nearby temples. The room was very comfortable, and the facilities were excellent, making it easy to relax and feel at home. What truly made the stay special were the hosts—beautiful people who genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. Their warmth and kindness went above and beyond. Very highly recommended, and we would happily stay here again.

Nice location. The owner is a very nice guy. I spend a lot of time talking with him. He recommended me to nearby izekaya where I had a very nice time. The hostel doesn't have a washing machine, but the owner can recommend you a nearby laundromat (and even give a discount coupon)

“Warm welcome and pleasant stay”

Great location, comfy bed and mostly the human touch. The owner was really nice and helpful. He explained everything about the guest house and its rules so even though the house was full, everything was smooth. He also recommended place to have breakfast and told me fun facts about real life in Japan I wouldn't have change to learn.

Lovely friendly host

The owner is incredibly kind, and we really enjoyed our daily conversations with him before and after exploring Matsushima. The facilities were clean and pleasant, and the guest rooms are located on the first floor, while he and his wife live downstairs. The location was perfect, and the owner was very helpful with recommendations for places to eat, things to see, and other tips. A special thanks goes to him and his wife on our last day, when we had to be evacuated due to a tsunami warning. They took care of us and brought us to safety further inland. They made sure we stayed informed, drove us around to find food, and helped us find a place to sleep for the night. This experience truly reflects their warm hospitality. We will definitely be coming back the next time we are in Japan. (If you are into music i believe you will enjoy seeing his record collection) crazy 😁

The host and his wife are very very friendly and so kind. I stayed there during a tsunami alert and they helped me and they others guest so much. Also he speaks very well english, he has good tips for the stay (Izakaya, sightseeing,...). He's from Matsushima and he knows the area well. Thank you so much.
