“excellent stay in Matsumoto”

excellent place, good location and only a few minutes walk from matsumoto castle and train station. staff where all very friendly and helpful and place very clean with space to dry washing outside from the women's only bathroom.

Ryoukan kind of feel. Staff were really nice and helpful. It was also really clean and a great location, not too far from the main station

We arrived hostel much earlier than their check in time, but they are so welcoming to let us store our luggage and immediately feeds lunch and sight seeing info although it's not time for check in yet. If anyone wanted to experience kamikochi , highly recommended

“Super nice stay”

Super cozy place, the staff was super nice and ready to help with anything. Thank tou June, you were so nice and helpful! The common areas were very clean and they had all the necessary amenities. Will definitely come back if we are ever back in Matsumoto.

“The perfect cosy hostel nestled between the mountains”

It was a beautiful building that was clean and very well-maintained. The staff were so welcoming and amazing and gave me lots of recommendations of what to do and where to eat in the area. They really treated me like a friend and it made my stay so lovely! They kept the place warm and a fire was always going, making it the perfect place to retreat to from the cold night air. The beds were also very comfortable and warm, and felt spacious and private. The facilities were immaculate - all kitchen, bathroom, and showers. If I'm ever back in Matsumoto, this is only place I will stay in.

I loved how cozy it is, the beds are comfy and the toilets and showers are clean. The breakfast was also delicious!

Beautiful hostel/ hotel in a traditional Japanese townhouse. The house and the staff very kind and friendly and made me feel right at home. In the evenings, I read and chilled in the common room and it was supercool with a fire going, tea and books. There are also a lot of Japanese travellers coming by, which speaks to its quality and standing in Matsumoto :) They also have a little sauna, a self-serve kitchen for cooking and serve tea, coffee and little cakes/ snacks in the afternoon. I stayed in a traditional Japanese room and slept very comfortably on a futon. It was a great experience to stay in one of these rooms. It was very well kept, clean and had beautiful closet paintings (can’t see in the photo) and smelled nicely of the bamboo futon. I’d definitely stay here again if I get the chance.

“Perfect stay in Matsumoto”

This was the best hostel I stayed at during my trip in Japan! The rooms are great, beds are clean and spacious and the bathroom facilities are clean. The social area downstairs was wonderful, I met a lot of people without expecting to and ended up travelling with a few of them! The staff are absolutely lovely, they really go above and beyond to make you comfortable and to have a chat with you whenever they can. Location was great! Central in Matsumoto and a quick 5-10 minute walk to the train station

Super comfortable lounge area (was able to sit comfortably with my laptop and study), friendly staff, I was able to send my luggage. Comfortable bed and really clean facilities.
