Overview
Offering hot-spring baths and a hot tub with views of the Matsumoto landscape, onsen hotel OMOTO has free WiFI at the lobby. It is a 10-minute drive from Matsumoto Castle and has Japanese-style rooms with a private bathroom. Yukata robes and slippers are provided in each traditionally styled room, and guests sleep in Japanese futon bedding atop a tatami (woven-straw) floor. Each room is air-conditioned and comes with a flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge, an electric kettle with green tea and toothbrushes. The hotel is about a 15-minute taxi ride from JR Matsumoto Train Station. The Matsumoto City Museum of Art and the Kaichi School Museum are both about a 12-minute drive. On-site parking is free. An indoor hot-spring bath can be used privately for an extra charge, but must be reserved in advance. Bicycles can be rented, and there is a souvenir shop with unique local items. A free-use massage chair can be enjoyed after soaking in the shared hot-spring bath.

“I will be backed for sure”
Excellent view of the city and the snow cap mountains from my room at level 6. Indoor and outdoor Onsen were spacious and with excellent view. Due to low peak period, it is extremely value for money for the spacious room with a view for a kill. Breakfast was good for me as I am a small eater . Plenty of car park slots (22)

Lovely staff. You can book a private onsen which is cleaned after each use. They offer a shuttle service back to the station after your stay. A lovely local tempura restaurant very nearby which was delicious! Make sure you take a look at all the spa facilities. I didn't realise there was a sauna and rooftop outdoor section with plunge pools (for 7th and 8th level) until I had already reached my onsen limit of heat!

“Relaxing stay, great onsen and sauna.”
The room is very spacious and the beds are comfy. There is also a sitting area in our room which we can enjoy the mountain views during the day. The public onsen is clean and well-maintained. If you plan to use the outdoor onsen, be sure to check the schedule for when it switches between women’s and men’s bathing times. Otherwise, the indoor onsen and sauna are available for both genders at all times. I particularly enjoyed the hot sauna and the outdoor cold plunge.

“Relaxing stay”
This hotel is beautiful, better than the photos. The room was so spacious and comfortable, the view was so gorgeous, we loved staying here. The onsen was really nice, and they also have a private one if you want to have an onsen experience with just a partner. The breakfast is good too, they deliver it to the room. There’s also a free shuttle that takes you to Matsumoto station every morning at 8:30 or 9:30, we took advantage of this as it’s a little far out. The area where the hotel is located is small and quiet, there are a few restaurants and cafes nearby. It’s great for a relaxing time.

Beautiful stay if you’re looking for a spacious traditional looking room. Such a peaceful & gorgeous location near the foot of the mountains. There’s also a nearby food place called Manjal that I super recommend. Apart from that, the place is just surrounded with gorgeous food places!
