“Rustic and welcoming ryokan”
Clean, staff are friendly and helpful in giving suggestions. There is a free shuttle from the bus stop to the accommodation and to Kamikochi. A good place to enjoy onsen

The staff were very warm and hospitable, and provided shuttle both ways. Overall still a good experience, very near kamikochi. The view is good. The onsen is nice and hot but quite small.

We stayed at Nakanoyu Onsen Ryokan for one night, and it was an amazing experience of authentic Japanese hospitality. Located in the heart of the Japanese Alps, it is a beautiful building with breathtaking views, offering a real onsen experience. Upon checking in you receive slippers and a yukata that you can wear to dinner and feel a little bit Japanese :) Breakfast and dinner were included in the price and were delicious. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind, spoke excellent English and even surprised us with some Hebrew. The feeling of sitting in a hot onsen bath outside in the dark and watching the moon was unforgettable. They offer a free shuttle service from the Matsumoto train station that you can book in advance by messaging the onsen. Finding the shuttle bus at the station was easy and smooth. In the morning there is also a free shuttle to the Kamikochi National Park (only 15 min ride away). In short, an excellent base to explore the Japanese Alps, highly recommended!

Very friendly English speaking staff. There were plenty of staff in the premises to serve. They even left our shoes out for us when we were going to check out. Onsen water was extremely hot 😂 and generally everything was super comfy. Food was also pretty nice.

“Great place for a real relax!”
I have been to the hotel 5 years ago, and came back again. The main reason is that we can take a short walk up to the hill at the back, and enjoyed the fascinating scene from the top. The Onsen is also very much enjoyable (but just a bit aging). The room is all right and just enough for a short stay. Staff are friendly and the food from the restaurant is good too.

Excellent location right next to Kamikochi. Daily shuttle from the Ryokan gets you right into the park for free. Extremely kind and helpful staff. The onsen baths were perfect for winding down after long days of hiking.

Lovely traditional styled room. Very comfortable. Great for a relaxing vacation. Superb views from every rooms anywhere in the property. Very friendly staffs, help us a lot because we don’t have anyone who can speak Japanese. The onsen was top notch. But the highlight has to be the traditional Japanese meals. Everything was exquisite. Good thing we’re not allergic to anything.
