The location is the best! Very near to Sawando Bus Station. Dinner served on both days delicious dinner for both days. As it was cold in the night, the owner helped to light the kerosene heater in the room for us. It was so kind of her!

Onsen on-site despite very basic facility. Charming staff with almost no english. Only option for breakfast or lunch was instant noodles Dinner was shabu shabu hot pot sbd very delicious. Having to sit in flor ryokan style is not good for elderly Western body.

Felt very welcomed! Enjoyed the traditional old Japanese house and onsen experience. Met other travellers, ate good food and loved the area for hiking (saw Monkeys!). It was also the most affordable place around there. The shuttle was not operating during winter, but there was a bus that took us to great hikes in the area.

Rustic and very charming ryokan sitting on a hot spring with an onsen. Great location for local alpine hikes andv1 hour from Masomoto. Wonderful friendly, caring and helpful staff

Incredibly friendly hosts who made us feel like family. Exceptional views, great food. Mrs Yoshida takes amazing care of you, she’s generous and hard working, striving to keep you happy and comfortable. Great location and convenient to get into Kamikochi, the hosts help you navigate and plan around the bus timetable :). As a group of 6 young travellers we felt beyond taken care of, we loved relaxing in their home & their beautiful Onsen. Most lovely people we have met in Japan, we will definitely return if we ever step foot in Japan. Thank you Mrs & Mr Yoshida for a lovely time.

“Convenient place on a budget for Kamikochi area.”

The onsen was good with very hot water. It has a convenience store and the traditional breakfast made by the owner was excellent. Convenient for an early start to get to Kamikochi or Norikura.

Guesthouse staff is very friendly and helpful. Sukiyaki dinner was affordable, tasty and filling. A great place to stay overnight near Kamikochi for the price!

The old couple that runs the guesthouse are great people. Little English but Google Translate helps. They will even explain how to eat the Japanese dishes. The rooms are cozy, the onsen is very nice (although a bit hot at times) and the Guesthouse is very close to the Sawado bus terminal. The surrounding area is beautiful and Kamikochi is half an hour by bus. All in all a great experience.
