Overview
Matsue New Urban Hotel is a 7-minute drive from JR Matsue Station and a 12-minute walk from the Matsue Castle. It features a public hot-spring bath, a restaurant and rooms with free WiFi. “Great spot!!”
From the start, the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is central to many places like the castle and art museum, and also quick access to go to the shore to watch the sunsets down the lake. They have several mamachari bikes which we used to cycle out to Koura Beach (26km return). Th hotel was clean and well run.

“Not near Matsue Station but I'd come here again”
The view of Lake Shinji from the 9th floor breakfast restaurant, onsen, free amenities (first time I'm seeing Sekkisui samples), welcome drink (Kirin beer), proximity to Matsue Castle and the Ichibata Densha station for getting to Taisha Izumo, conbini right downstairs you can go wearing your hotel pajamas.

“Relaxing stay, generous breakfasts, close to lakeside, castle, art gallery and trains.”
All you could eat buffet with good range of local dishes and western style items. View from dining room over the lake was awesome and relaxing, we enjoyed seeing small fishing boats one morning. Onsen was large and relaxing. Provided with extra towels. Staff helped order a taxi.

“Great location excellent value for money.”
Location was excellent. Parking on site, great view of the lake. Breakfast was included and on the 9th floor with 180 Degree views of the lake. Walking distance to the Castle.

Service was exceptional - would rate it 20/10 :) There was a lot of staff always present in the reception area, parking and restaurant and every single one of them was super courteous, helpful and attentive. Shout out to Yuama-san, Nishimura-san and Sato-san! Lots of amenities at the reception area, plus and onsen, convenient store at the ground floor, restaurant with a BEAUTIFUL view of the lake and the city. We opted for a Japanese style room for 2 nights which was very cozy and unique with a great view of the lake. For the next 3 nights we upgraded to a bigger room which was very spacious and comfortable. Excellent quality food at the restaurant and a really great service. The hotel from the outside looks quite normal but it was a great experience.

“Good staff and well priced”
Breakfast was fine and we enjoyed it overlooking the large lake. The room was comfortable and set up well so that anyone sitting at the desk did not impede others moving around.

The mattress was comfortable and the shower was excellent. The best thing was the absolutely fantastic quality buffet breakfast. The staff on reception were unfailingly helpful.

“well equipped cozy hotel.”
the hotel and its room were well equipped which was astonishing. every morning and night we enjoyed hot spring. also very nice to wear pajamas and yukata prepared by hotel. CVS and ATM on ground floor. rich amenities in and out of hotel more than you could expect. had a good time in an Izakaya nearby. the breakfast restaurant has a great lake view.
