“The best leisurely stay you could ask for in Matsue”
Our host Emi-san was very kind and knowledgeable, and even spoke great English. The house was excellently situated for transit and everyday shopping, in amazing shape, and even spotlessly clean when we arrived. Everything was as good as we could have possibly hoped.

“A very pleasant space to enjoy a quiet time”
The house is tastefully renovated in a way that preserves the original feeling of the traditional Japanese space while making the inside warm and quiet. Everything was very clean and well prepared. Breakfast was excellent, and the host is very kind and helpful. Recommended if you want a quiet, relaxing base for a few days of exploration in Matsue and Shimane.

“Perfect stay for Matsue”
This stay was a real highlight of the trip. The house is traditional but comfortable. There is great attention to detail.. The host is very charming and a wonderful resource about the area. The breakfast each day was simple but delicious. There is convenient parking. The location is great for exploring the castle and the area.

“Super nice, authentic Japanese lodging”
Emi was the most thorough, kind, helpful host we have had in all our travels. The experience in the house is understated in booking. We were surprised to find out that it is an authentic Japanese house. Emi helped us with restaurant information, commute information, calling a taxi, earlier than normal breakfast when we had to leave.

“The best option in Matsue”
Really excellent guesthouse setup. Have your own spacious apartment within the house. Beautifully furnished and host is friendly, generous and very helpful

“A memorable experience of living in a Japanese house.”
It was a great experience to live in a Japanese house. The house is clean and spacious, beautifully decorated, and fully equipped with daily needs. I also loved the quaint garden at the back of the house. The host is extremely hospitable and helpful too!

“Great Japanese experience”
Guest house Yonemuraya was a pleasant surprise. It was so much better than staying at a hotel, as it felt like a more authentic Japanese experience. I travelled to Matsue for a conference at Kunibike Messe convention centre and this was only a short walk away. Emi-San was an excellent host, helping me with finding place for dinner, sightseeing and shopping ideas when I had time off work. There was a lively restaurant area nearby, and the train station, castle etc were within walking distance.

Very well maintained Japanese style house, beautiful, clean and cozy. it’s located in a few minutes walks from the Matsue Castle.
