Overview
The Ferienhaus Sonnenhang enjoys an elevated, central and sunny location in Matrei in East Tyrol, amid the Hohe Tauern National Park. It features an infra-red cabin to relax after a day on the slopes. All apartments feature a kitchenette, a comfortable sofa, and satellite TV. There is also a terrace and a barbecue facility for the free use of all guests. Half-board is available in cooperation with a nearby restaurant, and in spring, a cookery course is offered. Breakfast with local specialities is served upon request. In summer, the house is an ideal starting point for hiking tours to the Großglockner Mountain and the Großvenediger Mountain, while in winter skiing and snowboarding is possible in the Großglockner Kals-Matrei Ski Area. A ski storage room with a boot dryer is available free of charge. Ferienhaus Sonnenhang was awarded 4 edelweiss, a designation for smaller hotels and guesthouses comparable to stars.

The apartment is very well equipped, everything corresponds to the description. The ski bus stop is about 300 meters away, but the cable car can be reached in two minutes by car.

“This is a perfect place for a very relaxing and refreshing holiday”
We had a fabulous two week stay at Ferienhaus Sonnenhang. The hostess was extremely kind and welcoming, making sure we had everything we could possibly need, and giving us several unexpected treats (home made cordial, cakes, even after one very hot and long walk a very welcome iced coffee). The apartment is very clean and spacious, with two sunny balconies with fantastic views over the mountains. The location is excellent with easy access by free bus to many beautiful villages and stunning scenery, as well as having many good walks from the doorstep. This is a beautiful unspoilt part of Austria, and we look forward to our next visit.

“First trip to Tirol”
We spent one week in Matrei and we really enjoyed it. Apartment was clean, comfortable and contained everything we needed. It also had a balcony with an amazing view on Alps. Nearby station of cable car is just two minutes drive. Hosts were really nice and willing to help us. We highly recommend this one and can´t wait to come again in summer.
