Nestled among canyon lakes and orthodox monasteries, Canyon Matka provides accommodation with a rustic setting full of character. It offers a panoramic terrace and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Free secured parking is possible nearby. Decorated with local fabrics, rooms at Canyon Matka hotel combine traditional features with modern flat-screen TVs. They all overlook the crystal-clear waters of Macedonia’s oldest artificial lake. Guests are greeted with a free bottle of wine. Great location, if you like nature the place is for You, from the car park to the hotel is quite far but I understand it because the hotel is in the canyon. No spaces for cars. Great wifi connection, staff very friendly 🙂

Georges location, hotel rooms seem to be under renovation but clean and comfortable beds. Nights are very quiet because it’s in a middle of a nature reserve, days are more noisy due to many day tourists. You can rent a cano, make a boat trip to a cave or walk along the water - the trail starts at the hotel.

Wonderful scenic canyon; peaceful hotel when we arrived late afternoon and very enjoyable stay with breakfast. It was time to leave in the morning though as the crowds started arriving!

“Amazing Place”
Breakfast was lovely, and the location is fantastic. The hotel's location is enchanting, especially in the evening after everyone leaves and in the morning before anyone arrives; it has an incredible atmosphere. Nothing at the hotel spoils this enchanting ambiance. However, if you arrive after 8 PM like we did, finding the way to the hotel can be quite difficult. There are no signs or directions. Let me describe it here: From the parking lot, you need to walk along a stone path that leads into the canyon, with a river on one side and mountains on the other, for about 5-6 minutes. Also, although we didn't eat there because it didn't fit into our plans, the food in the restaurant looked quite good. And if you're staying here, I recommend going for a walk or taking a boat trip early in the morning before the crowds start arriving; the magic disappears as soon as the large tour groups start coming.

“Definately recommended”
Place was stunning. Attic room was cozy and just what I needed. Big comfort bed, good pillows and linens. Quiet and lovely place after daytrip turists leave. Bottle of wine was included rooms price and actualle white wine was really good! Food at restaurant and breakfast(salads, cheeses, bread, yoghurt, different style eggs and fresh orange juice) was really good! Also vegan option available. I checked out early so they gave me breakfast pakkage.

They invited us a bottle of wine for dinner and then they charged us 6€ for a bottle of water. Food is overpriced. Avoid it!

“Right in the middle of nature!”
This hotel is right in the middle of Matka Canyon. The views are amazing! Staff was supper friendly and we were welcomed with a free bottle of wine. Food was great and room was clean.

“Unique place to visit!”
The hotel’s surroundings are beautiful, breathtaking, a very unique place. Our rooms were quite basic but I mean you are in the middle of nowhere with the amazing nature around you forget about everything else. Breakfast was good, a buffet with a very satisfying offer for everyone. Had dinner at the hotel and we enjoyed very much, a bit pricey but again you are where you are. You get free wine which was not bad at all. The weather was not too good, it rained all the time, still we slept quite good, made two beautiful hikes around the lake and also to the mountain.
