“Be careful: hotel may oversell rooms and place you in a different property”

We had fully paid for a 4-night stay at the Captal Beach Villa. However at the time of our stay 2-6 April 2025, the Captal Beach Villa was actually still being developed and rooms were being sold for the Captal Beach Villa when in fact no rooms were available there. We were instead placed at a different nearby (nameless) property that was 3 minutes walk away - this nameless property was also under construction with only 2 rooms ready and nothing else on site - we were placed in one of these two rooms. As Mathiveri island where these properties are located is small with limited accomodation options on short notice, we decided to accept this accomodation for the purpose of not disrupting our travel and only lodged a formal complaint after. To be very objective, the room at the different property we were placed at was not bad - it was a newly built, clean room with hot water in the shower, a kettle, mini-fridge, hair dryer, air-conditioning, lights etc. Breakfast was also provided on the first day at the main hotel (Captal Island Villa) and on our subsequent 3 days at a newly constructed pavilion where guests from different properties on the island came for breakfast. And the breakfast buffet was decent. However you must be aware of these risks when making a booking for this property: (1) it's a possibility when booking a room at the Captal Beach Villa that you will NOT be accommodated at the Captal Beach Villa as advertised, but at an alternative property (2) both the Captal Beach Villa and the alternative property are under development and not completed - both are still nameless as of 6 April 2025 and have no signage outside either property to even indicate that they are hotels or guesthouses of any sort (3) the alternative property we were placed at was also being used as a kind of storeroom with no staff based on site and large areas unbuilt, messy and used to store all kinds of things like towels, etc.

Great quiet rooms,guesthouse right near the beach. Nice little patio outside the rooms ( only 4 rooms) great relaxing place. Every one in Captal was really nice and always arranging things for us.

“Captal Beach Villa was awesome! The staff were even better!”

The staff were amazing. So kind and helpful from the very first emails explaining how the arrival process. Then the sweet and kind Srushti met us as the pier. She helpfully explained all the things we needed to know about the island, including a few safety tips about the currents. We were much more in the know that other tourists on the island. Srushti was very helpful with any question or request, or even clarifications about cultural customs in the area. The island was delightful. The people are charming. This is the place you want to go!

“Excellent”

Room was clean and cleaned every day, few steps from beautiful bikini beach. Stuff were so friendly and awailable in each time of the day, especially Suru, she helped us with everything. They organised private snorkeling excursion for us. Food was diverse and delicious. Definetly will return if I again wisit Maldives

“A spotless guest house with great food and beach access—perfect for relaxation!”

I just had an amazing stay at this guest house! The place was spotless, and the breakfasts were delicious—definitely a great way to start the day. Dinner was a standout too, with fresh fish that was out of this world! The beach is just a few steps away and absolutely gorgeous. Snorkeling was a highlight, with breathtaking sights and a fantastic guide who found the best spots and took some awesome pics. I can't recommend this place enough for a fun, relaxing getaway!

The room was cozy, just the mattresses were a little hard but the room and the facilities available were really good. The location of the villa couldn’t have been better. The breakfast was lovely. The staff were incredibly nice. Loved every bit of it!

A wonderful and lovingly furnished accommodation with access to the beach/sea about 50m away. From there you can experience the sunrise on the beach and swim to the fabulous picnic island with a snorkeling reef. 😍🌅🏝️ For breakfast you walk a leisurely 3 minutes to the main building, Captal Island Villa. The Maldivian breakfast buffet is lavish and lovingly prepared.🤗 The boss and all the staff at the accommodation are warm, friendly and incredibly helpful. We went on a snorkeling tour with you and swam with manta rays, turtles and Nors sharks. ☺️👌 For even more action, jet skis and kayaks and much more are available to rent. A very fantastic surprise was a cake for my partner's 40th birthday!!!! 🎂🎉😍 We are incredibly grateful and happy to have been a part of Captal Beach/island Villa and will definitely come back!! 💗🤗 Shukuriyyaa!!!! 😃🙏

“Everything you need from accommodation on island like this”

As far as local islands on Maldives go, this is one of my favorites! And this accommodation is just great. Right next to bikini beach, nice little courtyard, nice rooms (we were in one facing the yard), free coffee, cleaning every day,..etc. Villa is operated by Captal tourist agency, which are by far best for excursions and other stuff here. We had a wonderful time. Food in Captal restaurant is great also, especially grilled reef fish!

I rate the stay very well. Our cottage right on the beach was cleaned daily and comfortable. Next to the beach for tourists you can find coral reefs. Hotel staff friendly and very helpful. The island very charming with friendly people. We rate the stay very good.
