It is rustic, charming yet modern. The closeness to the beach, activities are wonderful. Most of all the staff is amazing; always with a smile and very attentive. The rooms are super clean and the beds are very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful- a true paradise. We have stayed many places in Zanzibar but none compares to Sunrise at Bandas. Highly recommend staying here. We will for sure come again

The staff were 10/10!! We literally couldn’t fault a single staff member! Everything from breakfast, to dinner, to cleaners, to reef walk and yoga everyone was fantastic! reception was really helpful too in organising taxis etc! Location right on the beach was lovely! Food was delicious!

A beautiful little paradise on a stunning beach in a peaceful, quiet location. The bungalows are lovely, very clean, and we received a warm, friendly welcome upon arrival. Although we’re usually not big cocktail drinkers, the cocktails here were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The food was fantastic, and live music created a great atmosphere. The ginger tea with lime and honey was the best ginger tea we’ve ever had. There was a very good range of activities, and we especially appreciated the complimentary offerings such as the village tour and the reef tour, both of which were very interesting and well organised.

This hotel was breathtaking. Everything about it was a slice of paradise- truly. It was boutique and intimate, whilst providing all the luxuries you need. They’ve mastered the island vibe impeccably and is not overrun. We have travelled to many countries and stayed in plenty of world renowned 5 star hotels and this is right up there with one of the best. Food at the resturant was brilliant. Every meal we had was perfection. Great wine list and drinks offering. The staff couldn’t have done more. Very warm and friendly and genuinely interacted. Great yoga classes too. Quiet, neighbourhood location which adds to the charm.

The sea view is stunning, the bungalow design is authentic, everything was perfectly clean. There are plenty of places around the hotel with affordable prices. The staff was helpful and attentive.

Beautiful beaches with soft powdered sand and stunning ocean views, including breathtaking sunrises. Easy beach access, friendly locals and staff, and a relaxing atmosphere. The all‑day breakfast offered a generous variety of options. The rooms were very good, and although we experienced some issues with our bathroom, the staff were exceptionally accommodating — upgrading us to another villa with private Jacuzzi facilities and offering meal discounts for the inconvenience. Loved the reef walk experience and exploring fascinating sea creatures and marine life.

“Romantic and way above any of our expectations”

Our stay was incredible. My boyfriend planned to propose to me and he organised it with the manager who got everything going with the rest of the team. They were absolutely fantastic right till the very end. The room is gorgeous with an astonishing view. They provide shoes if you fancy a reef walk and bikes for a ride on the beach. Very romantic and chill vibes. The restaurant only served delicious meals, we particularly fell in love with the lobster tagliatelle.

It has access to one of the best beaches I've been to. The staff is very friendly and fun. The food is consistently good and well prepared.
