“Peaceful, but not boring”

Beautiful boutique hotel on the beach in a stunning garden. Very friendly, family atmosphere, kind and helpful staff. Food is very delicious. The room was big and the bed was comfortable. Very quiet area, fantastic for sleeping and relaxing. Two pools, yoga for free, daily activities, gym and sports playground are prepared for guests. Check out at 11:00a.m. My stay was a great experience.

“An Absolute Paradise in Tanzania”

We had such an amazing time at this hotel! Honestly, the first thing you notice is how beautiful the place is the decor is stunning and the restaurant is so well-designed. The whole grounds are full of gorgeous tropical plants. The food was another highlight for us. There’s so much variety and everything we tried was delicious. We loved the pizza!Good non-alcoholic cocktails, especially mojito 👌 We took free bicycles from the hotel. We rode them around the town and all along the beach. Great experience! What really made the stay special, though, was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Thank you again!

“The perfect place for a calm, luxurious getaway.”

The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly and will help you with anything you might want, the hotel and the rooms are beautifully done and very clean, the food is great and they offer a variety of activities like swimming with the dolphins. I can truly recommend this hotel.

“Perfect”

Everything! The facilities are very beautiful, clean and maintained with care. Food is very delicious and there is always variety of different cuisines and options. Cocktails were professionally made, with good quality ingredients, tasty. Staff is super friendly in a nice, pleasant way. Room was clean, beautiful, spacious and had everything we needed. Beach in front of the hotel is well maintained, not crowded and very calm. There are several beds from the hotel on the beach where you can rest and enjoy the day. We stayed for a week and loved every moment.

Everything was perfect. All the staff were very helpful. They cleaned the room every day and arranged the bed very nicely. On Saturday evening, they also had very nice live music. If I return to Zanzibar, I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

I spent four wonderful days at the Zanzibar Queen Hotel as the last stop of my trip, and although this accommodation was the cheapest, it resulted in an unexpectedly positive surprise. It's hard to put the experience into words. It was fantastic. Every staff member welcomed me with such deep warmth that it would be good to highlight each of them by name! Genuine, heartfelt smiles, loving cheerfulness, politeness, and helpfulness. I can't express my gratitude for their kindness in words. I am very grateful. Thank them so much. I was moved to tears upon when I had to back my home. The hotel is simply exquisite, like a paradise on earth or a heavenly oasis, and it has everything one could desire. Two beautiful, clean pools, beach and poolside sun loungers, hammocks, soccer and volleyball courts, a children's playground, trampoline, garden games. Bicycles are freely available for use. The rooms are super spacious, with comfortable beds, elegant bathrooms, and well-equipped with tea and coffee makers. The breakfast is so varied in its buffet selection that even if one stays for a week, they can eat something new every day, including vegetarian options. Fresh fruits, salads, vegetables, and fish and meat dishes are freely available. Moreover, when I requested a takeaway breakfast due to my early morning departure, I received a generous breakfast packed in three professionally wrapped plastic boxes and protective bags, including fresh fruit and freshly baked tortilla wraps. As part of the half-board service, the dinners offered such an à la carte selection and quality that it would have been a credit to a Michelin-rated restaurant. I found no words; everything was so impressively delicious. One evening, we could participate in a live music barbecue party, and on another occasion, we could watch a Maasai show.

“FANTASTIC”

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, I felt incredibly welcome. The entire team is so kind, friendly, and helpful . The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The food was delicious and everything was perfectly taken care of. I felt very safe and comfortable throughout my stay, it’s truly a place where you can relax and feel at home. A special shout-out to CHAIMAE! She is absolutely amazing and such a great asset to the hotel. Her kindness and genuine care made me feel so welcome from the very beginning. All in all, a fantastic hotel with wonderful people. I would love to come back again!

“Nice place with insufficient maintenance”

The hotel located on the beach and is full of gardens of trees and flowers. There are two swimming pools. Staff is nice and welcoming. Breakfast is good.

This is a lovely hotel. The staff were polite and efficient, rooms modern and well equipped. Everything was very clean. Dinner meals were beautifully presented and food and drink is very good value. Because the hotel is quite small, it has a really nice relaxed vibe. Pool was great. Enjoyed the local cocktails.

The staff was super friendly and they really took good care of us. Whatever we needed they provided and gave us a good information for spending our time in Zanzibar, they organised trips and transport. The food was really good, especially the new pizza recipe makes really good snack during the day, when launching beside the pool. The pool was fantastic, it is cleaned every morning and big enough for everyone. I would also recommend to try the SPA services. Also I loved the facilities for training in the morning (the gym and the yoga place) and enough space outside to have fun playing valley ball with my family.

“Great location, incredible staff”

Sometimes the people make a place and this is very true at the Zanzibar Queen hotel. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable. Anitha got ginger tea for my husband when he was sick, Darek managed to find an English book for us to read and even checked all the pages were there, Mohamed was full of great advice and an exceptional bar manager, Buena and Abdul are always smiling and Sengeti is a true gentleman and an exceptional hotelier. We would return just to see them. Sure the hotel needs a bit of tarting up but you can forgive the cracks when the people that work there are so lovely. Stay in a beach bungalow and if you see a black and white cat, he likes sausages. Please feed him.

“Perfect place to relax and disconnect”

After a week long safari on the mainland, we relaxed and rested for a few days in the Zanzibar Queen Hotel and it was a perfect decision. The managing staff (Regina, Darek) were exceptionally welcoming and dedicated a lot of their time to make us feel at home, sharing some interesting info about the island. The reception/restaurant/cleaning staff were great too. The hotel has a big and deep pool surrounded by a beautiful garden with plenty of places to rest on sunbeds and comfy armchairs. There is a row of sunbeds at the beach and, while we have not used them, it seemed that the locals are asked not to bother people using the hotel sunbeds. And the beach... super wide (at low tide) with totally white sand, absolutely gorgeous. Sea urchins make it a bit difficult to enjoy the water but the hotel provides rubber shoes for the guests so at high tide it's just fine to swim near the shore. Breakfast is a buffet with tonnes of options including great coffee. Lunch can be ordered a la carte but there is also a daily special menu for those who want something extra. Dinner menu changes daily as well but there is the possibility to order something else from the regular menu. All food we tried was very very good! The hotel organises some free activities for the guests every day. Yoga in the mornings, reef walks at low tide, some singing and dancing performances in the evenings. You can also get bikes with relatively wide tyres which are great for biking down the beach. Overall, we had excellent vacation and can strongly recommend the hotel!
