I can’t recommend Zanzibar House enough! The hotel is perfect. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The owners are very nice people and helped us with bookings for all the day trips we wanted. The breakfast is amazing, rooms are comfortable and clean. We also had a great massage there. It’s a very quiet area. So if you are looking to relax by the pool and beach, this is the place to be.

Beautiful surroundings and views, nice pool, beautiful garden, super-cute cats and bushbabies, exceedingly kind staff, delicious food, convenient location, incredibly quiet, peaceful, and safe place, we loved it! We sure will return next year.

“Beautiful, unique boutique hotel on the white sand beach, with friendly staff. Paradise!”

The hotel is beautiful, right on the beach. It feels as though it has been there for decades, it has an "antique" feel to it, in a good way! Our room had a wonderful water view and sitting area outside. The breakfast was good, eggs or omelet to order with fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea. The dinners were made to order with fresh seafood, excellent pasta, etc. Great happy hour (2 for 1) and the bartender, Joseph took very good care of us. Kudos also to the breakfast waitress, (Lina?) she was a delight! Beautiful smile, friendly and helpful! The owners are friendly and on-hand for any wants or questions. The pool and seating areas outside were great, with different areas, you could always find a private space. There were some hawkers on the beach, but after a minute of ignoring them, they got bored and left. The hotel (residence for the owners) is beautiful with lots of art and wonderful pieces of furniture and things to explore. There are quite a few friendly cats living here, but they never came into our room or sat on our chairs. I like cats anyway! The sea water is really warm and it was a delight to wander out there in the late afternoon and plop our behinds on the sand, with the water up to our necks and sit for awhile. It is a quiet location, which is what we were looking for. We found another quaint little restaurant down the beach, but usually were content to just hang out here. It was a quiet and relaxing place to reminisce about our last couple of weeks on safari on the mainland. Zanzibar is paradise and I would go back to Zanzibar House Boutique Hotel! Thanks for a wonderful trip!!!

“Pure relaxation on clean and romantic beach and quaint atmosphere”

Very friendly and accommodating service staff. Excellent beach and pool area. Well kept. Happy hour with great cocktails. Pool table, games, canoes/SUPs and bikes available. Great view of ocean. Very good snorkeling for free - no need to go to Mnemba. Few sellers on beach.

The location, property, comfort, staff and service were great. We loved the laid back vibe! But, the owner's message in the menu about being inspired by Michelin starred chefs does not reflect the actual menu and the quality of the food served. We ate out a couple of times in the need to find 'local' cuisine. To be honest what we found only a few hundred metres away was delicious, beautifully prepared local food served at a saving on the 'tourist' menu offered at the Zanzibar House Boutique Hotel.

“Welcoming Beach Stay.”

Big terrace on each room, with seating and day beds. Nice beach location, with private beach area. Spacious pool, with lots of seating and sunbeds. Attention to detail, things like a beach bag made up. Delicious meals in the evening, lots of opportunity to try different things. Recommend paying for the half board as it includes a 4 course meal each evening. Kayaks, bikes, bodyboards also available to use, which was great. There are also wild bush babies so if you’re lucky, you’ll get to feed them bananas, added plus for us! There was also lots of sustainable soaps in the bathrooms to use, which were lovely. Seemed like a very eco friendly place. Felt like a welcoming home stay.

“A hotel that feels like home”

The hotel is located on the beach and it has a magnificent sea view. You immediately feel in paradise. The rooms were clean and well decorated and they were cleaned (and sprayed against mosquitoes twice a day). The bed was very comfortable and the only thing you heard during the night was the sea. The staff is very friendly and it is the perfect place to relax. The host ( Miria) was extremely caring, friendly, and made us feel at home. Regarding the services, I had two amazing massages and I can highly recommend it. Every morning there were delicious freshly baked goods. It is clear that this small hotel is managed with a lot of love and you are welcomed as if you’re part of the hosts’ home. The waiting staff (especially Lina and Michael) were fantastic.

The hotel is located on the beach, an hour's drive from Stonetown. The atmosphere of the hotel is very similar to home with a very attentive host. The host helped us plan our tours at an affordable price. The rooms are clean and tidy. The view from the beck side of hotel is a tropical forest and you won't regret it if you choose this side. Also, you have plenty of chooses of local of European cuisine and really worth to take dinner in your order.

“Heaven”

Everything. It’s a little paradise with such beautiful little touches such as the pre prepared beach bag in the room. Everyone was incredibly friendly and the dinner was a taste heaven. It’s the perfect place to reenergise and relax. The room had a gorgeous view of the beach and sea. The attention to detail here is beyond words.
