quiet, small place absolutely perfect for whom want to relax. swimming pool, cleaned by the owner everyday, nice shadow places for relax! and outstanding trip to the beach,with owner and hid wife,for seafood BBQ. unforgetable expierence!

We were met at the property by the owners, despite the late hour Laucin was friendly, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was delightful. You really can't argue with home made breads, fresh fruit and excellent coffee. The eggs were just a bonus. The hosts really made the stay incredible. They truly want their guests to have an incredible experience. Ney is an excellent cook and Laucin is really personable. Beriki was so charming and sweet. The property is an oasis, with a beautiful garden, ample swimming pool and lounge chairs.

As mentioned in all the other reviews, you won’t be disappointed by your stay at this guesthouse. Everything was perfect. We had a wonderful time... The people were incredibly friendly and gave us great tips on where to go and what to visit. We truly felt at home. The pool is even bigger than the pictures. Like all the comments have already said, it was perfect. You can trust them with your eyes closed

“Large, comfortable and peaceful property”

Lovely large living space, comfy seating indoor and out, and a walk-in in wardrobe area with shelves for clothes; quiet, clean, comfortable and totally peaceful. Large, clean pool and big garden. Ney and Laucin are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home and help with your stay. Breakfast is delicious with a good choice and served fresh at a time you choose - perfect. Beaches are a short walk away and you can eat in hotels along the beach or enjoy Ney's delicious home-cooked food! We loved our stay and it was so nice to chat and learn so much about the island too thank you!

“Beautiful place, very welcoming hosts”

I believe everything has already been said in the previous reviews... Laucin and Ney are extremely welcoming hosts. You are indeed treated as a member of the family, and invited to have diner with them - if you like. When I was there they even organised a beach barbecue for their guests and took me out to a trendy bar for Friday night drinks. There is a good dive shop nearby. If it's a little more privacy you're after, the garden and huge swimming pool (kept very clean :-)) are a good place to relax. There are only four rooms in total, so you won't have to share them with a lot of other guests. There is a pick of restaurants in the vicinity. Breakfast each morning is à la carte, so to your own taste. It can include fruits picked from the hotel's garden and coffee that is home roasted with beans from the Kilmanjaro region in Tanzania. The northeast coast of Zanzibar (Matemwe in particular) is very different from the main tourist towns like Stonetown or Nungwi. It's a quiet fishing village, where you'll see mostly see locals working and their children playing.

“Peaceful stay and great hospitality”

We had a wonderful stay at Ocean views villas in north Matemwe. The villas are spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything you need. The private garden and pool are perfect for relaxing. The staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive to every detail. The breakfast is delicious and varied, and the location is ideal for exploring the beautiful Matemwe beach and the nearby attractions. We highly recommend Ocean views villas for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in Zanzibar.

Location is wat i needed for the holiday its a quiet place and near to the small private and nice beach The owne Mr Laucin was the best he made our stay to go well anything we need he was sharp and deliver it on time we had amazing dinner every thing was amazing and his Assistance Ruth she is the best serving us breakfast and everything we ask with a beautiful smile😁The pool was also the Best ting ever 😍

The host... Beyond amazing. Top notch service doesn't even begin to describe it. I had a bad sunburn one day and the host went out and cut fresh aloe from his garden to soothe the burns. Meals were delicious! Super relaxing. The pool was phenomenal. Treat yourself to some pampering and stay here!

Quaint little private place . Very serene and peaceful The place was very tastefully decorated..rustic...it was my style completely The HOST was exceptional and his service 👏..his FOOD ...hats off to him. Host accommodated us all the way ...being a Muslim family we have lots of issues with the food we eat and the preparation of it... host accommodated us with a smile.. Even though it was different from our preferred on THE BEACH STAYS. THE FOOD MADE UP FOR IT...

We really enjoyed our staying at Matemwe Ocen View. Laucin is a fantastic host, his attention to details, quality of service it is comparable to a 5 stars Hotel. The level of cleaning is difficult to find it in any place in Europe, his cooking is superb and we even find a way to exchange culinary tricks. And do we want to talk about his margaritas.....wow!!!!! The villa is beautiful, comfortable and big and it is just 6/7 minutes from matemwe beach. We really enjoyed spending time at his villa where you can find a very nice swimming pool and a beautifully cared garden. We found a great deal of privacy, and we enjoyed spending time with Laucin the host who delighted us with his stories. And thank as well to Ney Laucin's wife. Good luck guys! You rock! AMAZING host

The owner is amazingly kind, the place is very private and quiet we had the feeling of being at home. The facilities are superb the design is fantastic. We very much appreciated the homemade meals they were delicious. No rush no stress hakuna matata

wonderful place to calm down u have a lot of space with all things you need specially the fridge was rly useful 😂😊 you have your own small villa and a lot of Privacy big pool a own terrace. and the owner is Rly friendly and engaged you should Test his food trust me :)

Ney and Laucin are the perfect hosts. If you want to stay in a peaceful and well-kept retreat, we highly recommend their little paradise. From ordering a 4min30sec egg for breakfast to having a succulent seafood bbq for dinner, we were spoiled like belonging to the family.

Our stay at Matemwe Ocean View Villas was perfect, we enjoy it to the end. The villa’s location is great and only few minutes walk to the beach where you can have view of Mnemba Island. If you are looking for an adventure, the only thing which you need is to get in touch with Ney or Alusin. They have connections for any activity you wish. They arrange a Mnemba island tour for us. What’s more, Ney arranged a private appointment for me to have African braid hair style, the hair stylists came to our villa garden. The garden is beautiful and the villa has big living room, a kitchen and is decorated in African style. Large, clean pool boost our mood in the mornings. Ney and Alusin are very friendly, we enjoyed talking with them a lot. And we we’re lucky enough to have a chance to have their home-made lunch. The breakfast is just delicious with good choice of fresh fruits. We will definitely come back here anytime we visited Zanzibar.

Excellent! The villa was perfect for our trip- lovely decor, clean and set in a beautiful quiet garden with a pool which we had to ourselves. The beach was a short walk away so it was perfect for us as we were diving locally. Ney was such a good host, the breakfasts were just delicious and we particularly enjoyed the fresh juice each morning. This place was fantastic value for money, would recommend to anyone!
